I'd say that Dean is a more natural defender/reader of the play than those two. Dean isn't quite the same level of athlete as them though.

Based on their draft years, as a key defender prospect I'd rate Dean ahead of those 2. But I'd have Curtin ahead overall as a player. Tauru the best athlete. Pretty confident if clubs had to pick between them.

Brendan Fevola notwithstanding we had an appalling draft record during that time where David Parkin’s philosophy was to ignore the Under 18 Competition in favours of drafting senior players from the WAFL and SANFL.

Dean I'd say fair enough, Ison I'd say was definitely trying to avoid any more bolting. He's a fantastic athlete so every chance he could have surprised a few and pumped his stocks up even more.

Yeah one would think Ison has already been told by the club we’re definitely gonna pick you, so just sit this one out.
Your right Ison finished the year with some serious momentum and has been bolting up the rankings, some standout combine results could’ve moved him into a late first round lock.
I’m hoping no bid comes in before pick 35

A while back someone out of the blue asked questions regarding a tall who was highly rated, but missed most of the season we were looking at. Eventually “remembered” Liam Hetherton.

That was me, no link to Carlton (at least not from me) apart from the fact that I later found out he was Dean's teammate. I just thought he might be good value with a later pick. Trust me; If we were to draft him, it would be a coincidence.

I havent gone off Lindsay like so many. Robey is so interesting, but not convinced he is a sure thing, maybe not enough exposure to him. Not the type I would trade up for and will go higher than Blues/Swans picks.

lt would be very surprising if we don't draft one KPF, if McKay goes down injured our options are close to zero.

Whilst some are pushing Okeefe he looks more a forward/ruck a real competitor but not sure he has natural forward instincts .

McKay, Kemp and O’Keefe are a good mix. Teamed with Hayward, Ainsworth, Williams, Moir and one or two of our other smalls would be very effective. While it was lesser oppo, the mix after Curnow went down was promising.

Absolutely need a young key prospect. As mentioned elsewhere O’Farrell could step up at that end, but likely we need another developing key forward. Young can pinch hit and likely Khamis could also help in that space, but if we are down to Harry as the genuine key among hybrids, we need a successor in the not too distant future.

I think if we get pick 2 we probably have to go for Duff-Tytler (after having bid on everyone and assuming West Coast take Duursma at pick 1).

Losing TDK, JSOS and Charlie as well as having HOF out for the year leaves us with short term and long term gaps in the list with our talls. While not being a quick fix, CDT could provide a nice tag team with HOK in the medium term.
