Did we cave?Thanks..it's a shame we caved on the Charlie trade and gave away all of the JSOS compo.
From my understanding the additional picks/points in the 2025 second round that Hawthorn gave us were given to Sydney in the Charlie trade.Did we cave?
We traded the JSOS compo with hawathorn as part of a trade that gave us extra points this year
Will 43 & 54 with the discount be enough points to match an Ison bid at say around 25?

No unfortunately. Not even close. 25 is 590 points. 43 is only worth 184. 54 is worth essentially nothing.
Thanks..If we had of also kept 42 and only given 31 which is a good second rounder we have plenty of wiggle room without having to worry about different permutations. Fingers crossed other clubs play the game and a bid comes in after pick 30We kept 43
That'll help quite a bit and he might drift being an academy player. My concern is if we use most our points early, and he actually becomes gettable for a pick under 25, another club might bid earlier then anticipated in an attempt to actually land him.Remember, all of Gold Coast's picks will be consumed with their 2 first 2 Academy picks. That's picks 15, 18, 21, 27, 30 and probably 52 as well. That gives them nothing for their other 3 Academy players, but it empties out a lot of picks.
Brisbane's picks 17, 23, 44 & 51 are also probably going to be consumed with their Academy picks, possibly all of them to make up 1 selection.
Sydney's picks 31, 32 and 42 may well be consumed with their Academy pick.
That's a lot of picks gone after the 1st round. It means picks 43 and 51 will move up the board. Maybe not enough for Ison, but the on-night trades haven't happened yet.
Suns probably be on the hunt for live picks swaps for those first two picks.Remember, all of Gold Coast's picks will be consumed with their 2 first 2 Academy picks. Yeah, in the past most those picks would have been traded for picks from late 30s to 50s on draft night. With the new points curve its not really practical to do that.Suns probably be on the hunt for live picks swaps for those first two picks.
Not a lot of options though.
They also have an extra 2nd and 3rd next year they could trade in. I think they'll find a way to do it. But if they do, the picks they trade in will also get consumed.
Really poor trading by us. We gave them too much back. From my understanding the additional picks/points in the 2025 second round that Hawthorn gave us were given to Sydney in the Charlie trade.
You’d think the dees will be the ones to bid on Dean.
This is pure hopium. Dean could go at 1 if WCE really are keen on him.I agree.
Next to zero chance WCE bid on Dean at 1 or 2. He’s unreal but there’s better.
Richmond have KPD coming out of their backside. Would be a silly list management decision nothing more than a bid out of spite.
I’d do a deal with Essendon, wink wink nudge nudge, get ahead and then what happens from there happens. Anything with WCE or Richmond has us getting fleeced for no reason.
where would a bid be expected?I’d almost put a bid on Darcy if we can, position of value and think he’ll be a gun when he gets continuity esp. with WB dicking us around after we’ve been good traders with them.
ATM seems he’s considered outside top 40, due to his injuries and lack of consistency getting on the field (“hidden’?) in recent times and he’s a def/fwd with marking prowess like his brother.where would a bid be expected?
He's nowhere near Sam as a player from games I watched. Might end up okah but Sam Darcy was something special in his 18s year.ATM seems he’s considered outside top 40, due to his injuries and lack of consistency getting on the field (“hidden’?) in recent times and he’s a def/fwd with marking prowess like his brother.
For a 3rd rounder dual kppm still growing and has good traits may be worth a shot… though dogs will match in a heart beat. He's nowhere near Sam as a player from games I watched. Might end up okah but Sam Darcy was something special in his 18s year.
Norf's 25 and 26 will be the ones to watch. Can imagine they'd be keen to move up the order.Yeah, in the past most those picks would have been traded for picks from late 30s to 50s on draft night. With the new points curve its not really practical to do that.
I'd deal with anyone that can arrange for us to get Dean, Ison and another first round pick, either this year or next.wet toast guys seem to think they are getting our pick 9 ,I wouldn't deal with them.
