I’m conscious this thread is meant to be about us BluStreak. You will have a definitive answer on the stadium in the next few weeks. My view is it is looking likely to proceed. But as a Tasmanian I can say that Tassie politics is filled with a history of surprises.i know that 2027 is the draft that Tassie is supposed to have to set up their team.
However, will there be a Tassie team if there is no Stadium??
Thats cool. I know the thread is about us but every poster seems to be discounting our 2027 picks because of it being the Tassie draft. Sure politics is unfathomable at the best of times, just working off the existing info at moment. It maybe delayed to another year so that the stadium is ready.I’m conscious this thread is meant to be about us BluStreak. You will have a definitive answer on the stadium in the next few weeks. The stadium wont be ready for R1 2028 anyway. The plan is for Tassie to play out of other venues the first year. So far the AFL have pushed ahead regardless.Thats cool. I personally think a delay to the team’s is the least likely option. I can see the stadium not being ready until after 2029. But the more likely option (if it goes ahead) is that the AFL would keep the start date the same and extend them at Bellerive until 2030 or 2031.Thats cool. Amen. I know people are very keen to see success in next 2-3 years but we’re in a pretty unique position here. We can set this team up for the next decade.Picking up Dean is Carlton first. Dean and HOF will be the backbone of our backline for the next dozen years
That's obfuscation, surely?Amen. I know people are very keen to see success in next 2-3 years but we’re in a pretty unique position here. We can set this team up for the next decade.
I don't give a crap about your a***! I didn't say it was deliberate but it goes on all the time, to keep things upbeat.Obfuscation my ars3
Or we know it’s going to get eaten up with a high bid. Hopefully we trade 9 or 11 for a future first, trade the other for points then hopefully trade back in to a player we like with Sydney’s 2026 pick. Would still leave us 2 2026 and 2027 first roundersDid anyone else see or hear something about us trading pick 11 for Adelaide's F1? Thoughts on this? If we do this, I think we're genuinely concerned about what Walker is going to cost us next year

We have picks 9, 11, 43, 54, 67, 72, 87, 105.
Not so sure you can shuffle those umpteen picks after 43 into a second rounder. Twomey is predicting there will be somewhere between 55-60 picks taken this year.
More likely that we just rate the 2026 draft far higher.Did anyone else see or hear something about us trading pick 11 for Adelaide's F1? Thoughts on this? If we do this, I think we're genuinely concerned about what Walker is going to cost us next year
There was mention that we’re also quite interested in this years draft pool as well.More likely that we just rate the 2026 draft far higher.
Gehrig was much faster. Ah-Mu is a mauler ruck who wants to play forward.Question:
Why is Tairon Ah-Mu not more highly considered?
Concern about man amongst boys? Endurance? Agility?
Reminds me of a Gherig
Agree. Watched both him and his brother closely, my son is in the program. Good kids with lots of raw ability. Interesting to see how they goGehrig was much faster. Ah-Mu is a mauler ruck who wants to play forward.
Mobility and endurance are a concern no matter which way that goes.
I absolutely expect Lachie to go home, but by then he will be one of our major players and be worth a mint, we won't loose thereIf Cowan leaves and gets a million dollar sign on bonus you can add another top 10 pick to the tally.
He’s signed beyond Tassie coming into the comp?I absolutely expect Lachie to go home, but by then he will be one of our major players and be worth a mint, we won't loose there
They have special access to out of contract players for 2 years and he's out of contract after their 1st year. He’s signed beyond Tassie coming into the comp?

Why? We get a compensation pick, and a floating one at that, where we can pick what year it falls into (presumably in a 2 or 3 year range). We would have thought so when he signed but AFL have made it, so Tassie can sign uncontracted players for their first 2 years.
If we think hes going to leave we need to push him into making that decision at end of 2027, so we can trade him under contract.
