Let alone this one?Imagine giving Essendon and prize top ten pick for second rounders in any draft let alone this one. The arch enemy getting out top ten pick and giving nothing in return for it
I think any good discussion site requires a devil’s advocate or two. Jimmae and Michael Jezz are people I have been reading on fan sites for the best part of 20 years. Not sure why jim is up on a pedestal around here. No offence but more often than not the bloke is the reverse Midas touch....letting Dean out to hang, terrible call
Trading him now means the first round picks we get are effectively useless.

What's it costing us in draft picks? Ask yourself the question instead of being obsessed with points.
No it doesn’t make sense. Charlie’ “three first rounders are pick 11 one in the mid 20’s and one mid 30’s. Why the heck did we give back two second rounders we just did poorly out of the Curnow trade and giving up the Silvagni pick, seriously we outsmarted ourselves and make some poor deals. In a deal that gave us a points surplus. Then those later picks were thrown back in the Charlie deal which netted us 3 1sts. The deal made a lot of sense. Still doesn't change the fact we are not giving 9 and 11 for Dean as you are claiming.
So will all our picks be used on just Dean and Ison or are we able to draft another player as well?
Where are you getting one in the mid 20s and one in the mid 30s from?No it doesn’t make sense. Charlie’ “three first rounders are pick 11 one in the mid 20’s and one mid 30’s. I’ve heard Adelaide will be offering their F1 to us. These Essendon/north rumours might be helpful in flushing that out.

Giving up 19 gave us 11 in a deal with a points surplus our way. And mid 20s and mid 30s? Come on now.No it doesn’t make sense. Naughton was drafted as a CHB as was Ben King. Mac Andrew was pick 5.Doesn't Jimmae rate Dean? How many key defenders taken early (top10) in the draft end up being good AFL footballers? Weitering is the only one that comes to mind.
I dont think theyll get them all. The first 2 would be their priority. Also I don’t see how Gold Coast get their 5 prize academy players when their first pick is a latish first rounder and one will go at pick 2 and another one early. How are they doing it and have to sell the farm for Dean
I don't know the answer. I'm just asking the questions. Is giving up two top draft picks for a kid who hasn't played any senior AFL football risky list management? The real debate will be had much later. Was Dean's career better than farrow+Lindsay (for example) combined?
Thats disappointing your not in charge you seem to be a lot more across what is required than GW and his team are.I wouldn't of traded that pick we got for JSOS. That's really hamstrung us now.
I've seen Deans highlights.
Wtf? Tiges or WCE?Doesn't look like Dean gets to Don's pick so irrelevant whether they would bid or not.
What is the logic of splitting if Dean is bid on early? We have to pay, and any remainder points come in at the closest pick value anyway? Makes no sense unless we get a lot more points. That would be decent, although often early on, all parts of the trade dont get reported.

We won't know the answer for a few years at least. But we're going to end up doing this over a 3 year period.

Pretty sure that would be part of the deal ie don’t bid on deanWhy in the hell would we do that? For a start Pick 9 is worth 101 points more than 21 & 27 before you even get into the potential worth on draft night. If we are going to split an early 1st rounder I'd hope we would do a lot better than that.
AND, I'd want to make sure that deal got done AFTER * had used their first 2 picks or else they could bid on Dean and shaft us Royally.
Deal hasn’t been done has it?The dogs paid a pick in the 30s to move up two places in the teens, surely pick 11 is worth more than 25 and a F2, both picks will be late 20s early 30s
