thru life’s journey some need more support than others … even if he doesn’t play well however he beats his demons it’s a win for him and the club.

Was not commentary upon Elijah, just that the wording was probably not correct

Yeah, I was hoping there might be some discussion about how they were keen to get Talor, hoping he would last to our pick, excitement when he did, etc.

They really gave us doughnuts on that front.

I think the donuts give you some insight.

We probably had several guys rated similarily for that spot. Talor likely not top of that list. But we werent overly fussed, hence why we kept trading back. Tobyn Murray might have been our top preference.

FMD, how morbid does it look in there?!?! I reckon poor ol' Harry D thought he'd walked into a funeral wake.

We know it's highly edited, but it seems like the message they're trying to portray here is "we mean business." Pre-rehearsed meeting between the footy boss and the list management team, then over to the war room which basically gave us almost zero insight compared to last year.

I don't think there's much to show, clear strategy of getting points for Dean and Ison and for Cody next year

It really amazes me that people still believe the words coming from the people at the club...

I really doubt we actually rated Ison that high... are we the only one's that did? Why else would he slide that far in the draft? The nonsense about "they knew we'd match the bid anyway so that's why they didn't bother"... why were others being bid on then?

This is purely a stunt to hype up the draft kids.

Twomey, ESPN, FOX, Craft of the Draft and Rookie Me Central all had Ison ranked between 20-27 going into the draft. I don't think its at all farfetched to imagine the club had him rated as a first round talent.

Not sure why anyone would care whether they truly did or not either. We picked him, now it's up to him to show his true level of talent.

Several itks have reported we rated Ison there. He was also largely hidden for much of the year playing school footy. We've seen him up much closer then most clubs. Even Twomey rated him a late 1st. Theres plenty of evidence to suggest we might rate Ison 1st round. If they said it on the video, I believe it.

I dont think we make things up for those videos as in I dont think they say things just for the video. I do think they decide what to put in and leave out though.

For example there's probably a reasonable chance we didnt rate Dean top 3, but that'd almost certainly be left on the cutting room floor if there were comments in that regard. Or any conversation about not matching him. Same if we preferred another small forward to Talor, but he was taken before.

No idea why clubs did not bid for him so your argument makes sense. However, I do know as fact that 2 clubs rated him as a top 20 pick

Pretty much every draft expert had Oliver Greaves rated in the first round, and he ended up being picked up in the rookie draft. Sliders happen

Good luck to the kid, hopefully we’ve added another runner and he proves every club WRONG, but I think we need to accept that he was still available at pick 47 in a weak draft. The saying - ‘can’t believe he was available at this pick’, rings loud sometimes. Let’s just watch him develop and grow.

Similar goes for Byrne. Fingers crossed our recruiting team picked well.
