2025 Election Werewolf

NB - Democracy sausage not included.

The country is in crisis. Again. Or still. Frankly, it's hard to tell. As May 3rd comes ever closer, the polls are tighter than a marching drum (like the ones they play in Communist China, maybe?) and the only thing more cooked than the preference deals is your uncle's Facebook feed.

Behind the scenes, the usual suspects are at it again. The Liberals are too busy fighting each other to fight the migrant crime they dogwhistle seemingly every election. The ALP is promising everything to everyone and praying no one reads the budget. The Greens are threatening to chain themselves to Parliament House until they get a vegan sausage option. And Pauline Hanson, Clive Palmer and Bob Katter are trying to say something more outrageous than each other every day of the campaign.

Any excuse to post this video haha.

But beneath the surface of smiley sausage sizzles, baby-kissing and marginal seat cash splashes, a far more sinister campaign is underway. Shadowy operatives are infiltrating the party rooms. Whispered deals are being made behind closed doors (and in dimly lit pokie rooms). Someone’s buying votes, someone’s burning ballot papers, and someone’s definitely not declaring all their donors. But they don’t care about safe seats or bloody Eden-Monarto - they just want chaos, control, and maybe a cushy spot on the ABC panel show circuit.

Do you have what it takes to survive the smear campaigns, survive Question Time, and resist the temptation of free wine at the Canberra Press Club? Or will you sell out faster than an Independent on Sky News?

It's time to join a party, make some promises you’ll never keep and vote below the line, because in this campaign, you can't trust anyone.

Roles will be randomly assigned to all players and will be communicated before the start of Night 1 via PM (Private Message), except for Villagers. The Village must identify and kill all of the Werewolves, Mafia and Neutral roles before these players can kill enough players to satisfy their own win condition.

Each day will consist of two phases, starting with Night 1 on Monday 30th April:

Night phase (9pm – 8am AEST)
Players with night actions will nominate the targets of these actions via PM during this phase. These actions must be bolded and clearly stated to be valid. Actions will not be accepted after 7:59am, whether or not deadline has been announced in the game thread.

Day phase (8am – 9pm AEST)
After the results of night actions have been announced, all players will publicly vote to lynch one player during this phase. Votes will not be accepted after 8:59pm, whether or not deadline has been announced in the game thread. The player with the most votes by the time of the deadline will be lynched and their role revealed in the game thread. In the event of a tied lynch, there will be a multi-lynch i.e. all the leading vote-getters will be lynched.

VOTING
Votes must be in the game thread and must bold the player being voted. Tagging the moderators is not required. You do not have to provide a reason for your vote for it to be valid.

FAILURE TO VOTE IN ANY DAY PHASE WILL RESULT IN A MODKILL

OTHER REASONS FOR MODKILLS

  • Failing to nominate a night action on TWO separate Night phases (explicitly choosing to not use an action is fine)
  • Any communication about this particular game of Werewolf outside of the game thread, except for those that have an allocated PM group
  • Any deleting or editing posts from the game thread
  • Posting screenshots of BigFooty of any kind in the game thread
  • Directly quoting any PMs from me as moderator in the game thread

And once again outside of spoiler tags:

FAILURE TO VOTE IN ANY DAY PHASE WILL RESULT IN A MODKILL

ROLES

The Labor Party (Mafia)
(get a factional kill each Night Phase that cannot be Roleblocked)
  • Did you know that he grew up in public housing? The now proud owner of a multi-million dollar clifftop mansion loves spruiking that, even though his time as Prime Minister hasn't really done anything towards easing the housing crisis. But now, he wants ultimate power and it seems like nothing can hold him back.
    • Night immune to kills; Seers as if they are an Aussie Battler; Gets one seer each Night Phase
  • Almost completely invisible, the Deputy PM only seems to get any news coverage when Albo is out of the country. He's been effectively mute throughout the campaign and no-one is particularly convinced that he can do the job if he has to step up. Unless "the job" is tying his own shoelaces. Even then ...
    • Takes over from Anthony Albanese if he is killed
  • With his continuation of Coalition policies on turning back the boats, Tony Burke has a lot of experience as a blocker. And leading a department of brownshirts, he's got a lot of experience as a head kicker too. Tread carefully.
    • Blocks another player's action each Night Phase (cannot target the same player in consecutive Night Phases)
  • Has mastered the art of smiling while twisting the knife. She’s the kind of person who could tell you to your face she’s got your back, and the next second you’re being forced to vote for someone you barely know. Cold, calculating, and always in control—she’s the puppet master of the operation.
    • Forces a player to vote for a certain other player in the next Day Phase
WIN CONDITION - Eliminate all Liberals, Lidia Thorpe and Teals, plus equal or outnumber the Australian Public.

The Liberal Party (Werewolves)
(get a factional kill each Night Phase that cannot be Roleblocked)
  • Once a Queensland cop
    • Night immune to kills; Seers as if they are an Aussie Battler; Gets one seer each Night Phase
  • A
    • No powers, but the Liberal Party get an extra kill in the Night Phase following their death (that cannot be Roleblocked)
  • A
    • Secretly changes someone's vote in the next Day Phase to a player of their choosing
  • A
    • Escapes their first attempted lynch (the next highest vote-getter will be lynched instead)
WIN CONDITION - Eliminate all Labor, Lidia Thorpe and Teals, plus equal or outnumber the Australian Public.

Neutral Roles
  • A
    • Night immune to kills; Seers as if they are an Aussie Battler; Gets one kill each Night Phase
WIN CONDITION - Make it to the final 4 players.
  • A
    • Seers as if they are an Aussie Battler; Can recruit (up to 3 more Teals at any point in time) OR kill each Night Phase; Recruited Teals retain their night actions, but their win condition changes to the Teals' win condition; If Peter Holmes à Court is killed, the Teals can no longer recruit, but can still kill one player each Night Phase
WIN CONDITION - Eliminate or recruit all Liberals, Labor, Lidia Thorpe, plus equal or outnumber the Australian Public.

Australian Public (Good Roles)
  • A
    • Can kill a player each Night Phase
  • A
    • Can protect a player from kill actions each Night Phase (cannot target the same player in consecutive Night Phases)
  • A
    • Can seer a player each Night Phase; Always gets the true result (except for those stipulated otherwise); Does not know if they are the true or fake seer and cannot seer themselves
  • A
    • Can seer a player each Night Phase; Always gets a randomised false result; Does not know if they are the true or fake seer and cannot seer themselves
  • A
    • Can either Kill, Protect, Roleblock or Seer a player each Night Phase (must use all the actions once before using an action again)
  • A
    • MUST Kill, Protect, Roleblock or Seer a player each Night Phase, but either the target or the action will be randomised (must try to use all the actions once before using an action again)
  • A
    • Once per game, during a Day Phase, the Australian Electoral Commissioner - Jeff Pope - can secretly investigate illegal campaign donations and voter suppression via PM; During that Day Phase, Penny Wong’s blackmail will no longer be valid (the blackmailed player will be informed privately) and Gina Rinehart’s vote manipulation will fail; The investigation outcome will not be shared with either major party or revealed in the game thread.
  • A
    • Shares a PM with the other Flogs; Nominate a Labor or Liberal politician each Night Phase and in the first three hours of the next Day Phase, that politician has to share Two Truths And A Lie that only their faction could know via Moderator (without revealing in the game thread or their PM that they have fed information to the media)
  • A
    • No special powers
WIN CONDITION - Kill all Liberals, Labor, Lidia Thorpe and Teals before any of them reach their own win condition.

Parliamentary Privilege (Amulet)
  • Randomly allocated to a player at the start of the game
  • The holder will be protected from ALL Night Phase actions and the next day’s lynch (the next highest vote-getter will be lynched instead)
  • The holder must pass it on before the next Day Phase deadline and it can only be passed onto someone else in their PM (Labor/Liberals/Teals/Media) once
  • If it isn't successfully passed, it will be randomly re-allocated to another player
  • Parliamentary Privilege will explode at a randomised pre-determined day and time and the holder will be taken to court for Defamation, killing them

Thanks Barrybran for some additional roles. Open for more suggestions too!

You might have forgotten the Marijuana Party? I can see big things for them, if they'd just shut up and coast in like they're supposed to.

We might all need to be legally stoned to get through the next term.

Pie 4 Life - I can't get obsessed with killing you in this one, so that makes it worth playing, right?
Tarkyn_24 - I know you only respond to a personalised invitation these days, so here you go.
ClarkeM - You liked the OP but haven't committed to actually playing. What gives?
Cadsky - Where you at? You're normally first in for my games.
jmoo wan - Do I have to resort to flattery (again) to get you to sign up?

ZergMinion - Are your shoulders and ... erm ... your other areas suitably recovered to play another game?
CursingFijian - You gonna try and go back to back after your SK win in the Easter game?
Chipmunk - Time to test your Aussie bonafides by sticking it to all the grubs in Canberra.
Stokey - Does an opportunity to take out Albo entice you into a long awaited comeback?
Strigoi - No guarantees, but I'll try my best to make sure you don't get offed on the first night again!

I don't want to be any of these characters, but maybe I won't be so in.
