Agree with all of that except Sander's role security, yet to see proof that he'll be in with no mention of Harmes yet, if he is in then does he stay in when Treloar returns?
If Treloar is out for 6 weeks, does it matter?

Sanders could easily avg 90 in that time and being a mid/fwd, it's an easy trade

I just want to see Sanders getting those midfield minutes with both Kennedy and Harmes being available.

He's currently in my team and as you rightly pointed out 6 weeks should be enough to cash him out, hopefully a downgrade to Phillipou, releasing some cash for an upgrade elsewhere.

Also putting me off a fair few Adelaide blokes.

Have Rankine and Dawson currently but thinking of dropping both as there’s too many guys who can run through the middle and these two will be the first out as they can play well elsewhere.
They’ll be right

It’s rankine pushing for more mid time creating some of that Jam

Curtin won’t play as a mid. Maybe the odd CBA to change it up but it’ll be rare this year I think. Forward who roams up the ground

I think soligo may spend more time on wing to accommodate some players in there. Laird is out.

Dawson, rankine, Peatling, soligo , crouch will be the clear top 5 with more likelihood of crouch dropping out than there is of another guy pushing one of the others mid time down

Bit of a left field question as its more to do with draft, but figured here is the best place to post and see if there's any keen fantasy minds out there. In a keeper league and put in a big offer for Darcy Wilson (he's a personal favourite player of mine also, and think he has huge upside).

Do we know what really determines the forward eligibility? I have seen on the AFL website that players need to spend 35% of their time in another position to gain DPP. Is that 35% determined from their starting position at a centre bounce? Or where they get their touches?

I mean if you look at Wilson's disposal map for the 2024 season (courtesy of DFS Australia, he maintained FWD eligibility for 2025 season, but this heat map doesn't necessarily scream FWD to me???

I love the guy and think he's going to be a jet regardless of where he plays, however if he maintains his FWD status then its a big win in a trade sense for me. Its also interesting to note that a lot of the Saints players who supposedly play "wing" end up with DPP. All of Wilson, Mason Wood, Brad Hill etc are all FWD eligible. Dont know if its just how Ross lines them up? They start inside fwd 50 and run in with their big tanks??

It's starting position for CBA. I was under impression Wilson was mostly wing but must have been enough half forward and then pushing up to wing last year.

So you can line up on a wing at CBs, but then if you barely touch it in the midfield and get most of your touches in teh forward 50 that counts for nothing?

I feel like as long as Ross is coach, he will continue to use the elite runners in the forward 50 who push up to the stoppages once the ball is bounced.

Correct. A pure wing (from starting positions) would be mid only regardless how much they push forward or back.

Like Tigs says it’s based off starting position. IMO I also think there is some secret herbs and spices added in that we don’t know about too…

As for Wilson, he played a small stretch of games starting at HFF and forward pocket around mid season from memory. Not many of them but evidently it must’ve been enough to keep forward status for this year. Im not sure I’d bank on him keeping it going forward though. I thought he was incredibly lucky to have kept it going into this season.

What’s the big offer you made?

Yeah as you have touched on perfectly, i was surprised he was a forward also. But its also interesting that Wood and Hill have forward status also, given you see them mainly on the wing for almost the whole game. Like I said Wilson is a huge personal favourite of mine, and I think he has huge upside regardless of where he plays given his tank. I am hoping he keeps forward eligibility moving forward if Ross continues to start him at HFF, however I think I still want to trade for him regardless.

We play in a 10 man 16 keeper league. Have a stack of early picks this year, with a team full of budding youngsters across every line (when I joined i was left with an absolute state of disarray, so its been a slow build). So ive got a cohort of young guns now, so picking fresh draftees is coming less of a need for me now.

Offer is my F1 + Rachele > Wilson + F4 or something of the likes. Being a crows fan its extremely upsetting to possibly part with Rash, but as good as he may be as a forward, I still really query what his fantasy output will be with so many around him in the midfield and half forward areas competing for the pill. I also have a number of other crows players.

Rash more likely to be a forward DPP his whole career, but unsure what his fantasy output is. Wilson obviously the much higher ceiling fantasy wise, but unsure what his DPP will be throughout his career.

Wilson looks a weapon. F1 is a big loss though but if you want the player and see certain things in said player then you just do it

Adam Cooney...
Yes I know ....not exactly an expert ringing endorsement ....that said, Coons hates all things Crows, so his comment is against the grain

My grandma saying i am the most handsome boy in the world and all the girls will be lining up to date me wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement...

Using an Adam Cooney comment as evidence of a point is generally a tell tale sign you need to reconsider that point.

Thinking about it, would rather field a rookie forward over a defender as the forwards top 6 is lower than the defenders.
Agreed, I just can't find someone to put F8 & the stupid game doesn't let you leave it blank lol

Kako, Hewett, Curtin, J.Berry probably all safe enough bench options

(I've currently got Kako there, even though I dont rate his ability to score)
Curtin definitely isn’t worth the 300k price tag.
Berry has a fantastic start to the season so probably the best out of the bunch to have on your bench.
