The Hawks got through their loss to Gold Coast relatively unscathed, though Jai Newcombe is in a moon boot and Josh Battle suffered a cork shin. Neither player, however, is considered in doubt for this week.

Not that any two injuries are the same but after McGovern punctured his lung last year he was out 4 weeks.
He was not cleared to fly and had to drive back across the state to see off Simpson.

News seem to reporting Macrae is cleared to fly today. And will then spend another night in hospital once he lands (presumably as a further precautionary measure after flying?).

McGovern was out for 4 weeks. So comparing like for like I'd say its 4 weeks max.

The big unknown and concern is really his "back" being mentioned in the reporting. That seems to have fallen silent now so hopefully it's just a case of the punctured lung being the only concern.

man Jayden short is soft

Jayden Short: Calf, 1-2 weeks

"Shorty missed a game a couple of weeks ago, where he pulled out in the warm-up due to knee soreness," Serpell said.

"Unfortunately, in the last couple of weeks, that knee soreness has tracked to the back of his leg, and he has sustained a small soleus strain in his calf.

"We will manage that over the next couple of weeks, and just like we do with any of our other players, we will take a precautionary approach with it and give him a bit of time.

"He will miss the next one to two (weeks), so we can make sure that he is right to go when he is available."

First-year Demon Xavier Linday is expected to take on the Swans despite a heavy hit against Brisbane.
“Xavier had that hit late in the fourth quarter. He just came off as he had a little bit of trouble with his speech and swallowing,” Griffith said.

“He was seen at the hospital in Brisbane and stayed overnight and was cleared from scans there.

“Once he returned to Melbourne we sought further specialist opinion that has cleared him of any further damage.

“He's obviously still recovering and he'll look to integrate into training this week and we expect that he'll be available this weekend."

Short - Fonti cover
JHF - Lindsay cover
Macrae traded
Caleb traded
Kako and Cleary my only bench playing rooks this upcoming week.
Wouldn’t you trade JHF ahead of Caleb?
I’m not too keen on keeping Caleb for another week myself but he’s perfect to flick off next week. You always need people to trade on their bye

Yep, Caleb>Coleman is pretty much locked in as one of my trades next week provided Coleman shows enough this week. Want one more look at him

I’m the same. No matter what he shows next week - he will make money and I’ll probably boot him in r16. That’s what the byes are for!
I've brought Kiddy in this week for Lindsay ....a direct swap

Then my potential parachute option maybe Kiddy to Mills, on Kiddy's R16 Bye ....depending on Mills role though
