Hi everyone, first time poster.
Upgrading Lohmann. Trying to decide between saving a bit of cash and going with JHF or spending a bit more and getting Luke Jackson. People at my work are all telling me different things so hoping for some clarity :)
JHF probably has higher upside and can produce bigger scores. I have faith in Jackson now, I think he can maintain it for the year. His only bad games are the one he got injured (was tracking for 100) and his return game (72% TOG).

Also what a time to be alive, Gary Ablett at the Swans, the Goat Dane Swan, Pendles averaging 110, Matty Boyd at the Dogs who was a dawg, Baby Rockliff - so many good times.

I wish Gary Ablett was at the Swans..! :p

Curious on dogs to bring in - Richards second highest average but very low ownership? Is it the lack of DPP? Why not take him as a POD?
He's the second in line for a tag now, I would pick him but have other gaps that need fixing atm

I agree with the Dunkley remarks but couldn't that apply to Hewett too? Averaging 90 over last 5 games, and it drops below 90 if you include the last 6 games. His form at the start of the season was impressive but wasn't sustainable. I know Walsh is out now but he was out while Hewett was putting up poor scores.
all good points. The difference is Dunkley has a bye coming up. Hewett doesn't. And Hewett has been good in his last 2.

Have you considered Darcy (unless you already have him)? $100k cheaper than Jackson and I feel he will at least score the same.

Jackson probably priced at what he's likely to average from here - mid 90's, so Darcy is better value (priced to average 82 but is at least $100k better than that...)

On Monday I had pulled the trigger on JHF but that training video showing limited mobility has me reconsidering...

I don't have Darcy and yes, I have considered him. I have always felt JHF has more ways of scoring and is more difficult to contain. That could just be my misconception though. I never considered bring in Darcy but would be a unique pick in my league.

Bit off topic, but hoping someone can assist.

Playing AFL Fantasy draft league - is it correct that a player like Zak Johnson will not get DPP as a back because he will not have played 50% of games at the next update in Rd18 or so?

He’s only played 3 games now and should hold onto a position even with some players returning (if he holds form).

Which way would you go this week? (1 or 0 rooks onfield is based on going back to best 22)

Dale & Rowston (McCarthy only rook onfield next week & 200k ITB)
or
Bergman/Mills & McKercher (No rooks onfield & 60k ITB)

Having Dale might give me a better pop score this week over the other two as ill have 19 of my best 22 playing, but Mckercher/Mills can ton up any given day aswell.

Think I prefer option 1. Like you say, Dale is hitting ceiling scores and I think McCarthy's floor is likely 80 and only 5-10 lower than Mills/McKerker's floor. So pocket the the extra $140k to go shopping next week.

The Rowston cash gen shouldn't be Bailey Smithed at either.

Dale also has the best run for rebounding defenders over the next 3 weeks and 3rd best for the season although he could be tagged by Jordon next week.

Still finding it a hard decision though as i planned to get the other two and it was the only reason i didn't go Serong last week which is annoying.

I'm tempted by Dale this week too. Problem is I have no F5 or F6 I trust when it gets to best 22 in a fortnight so I kind of need to bring one in asap. If I spend up on Dale it prevents me from spending up on two forwards in pre Rd 16 & 17 and there is no mid pricer/rookie I trust on that line like I do McCarthy and Johnson...so my hand is forced in a way.

Yeah fair enough, i've never really like Dale as a pick but the run is nice and should go 100+ easily this week.

I'll have a full backline but at this rate ill move my DEF/MID's into the midfield and get more defenders like Whit/Ash as there arent alot of good mids currently lmao.

I'm planning on loading up on Ash/Dale/Sinc/Jaicos for the run home too and going full defenders in mid mode.

I'm picking Dale but it means I've got Wicks on field, but next week I'll upgrade him, which will complete my defence.

Mills & McKercher option is tempting, but it means 2 trades to upgrade them later. Doing the Dale pick - he can stay best 6 for the rest of the season, given his run, and move excess DEF/MID DPPs into the mids.

Rowstons JS may be a concern - will he stay in GWS best 22 and avoid sub vest? Haven't seen him play so I don't know whether he's a good pick or not.

Agree with all points, probably more cash gen from Mills/McKercher though but 2 more trades to be used on them like you said.

Rowston is a hard one, might have to do more digging, did he come in for Ward?
