Ideally you want both. The sub score has temporarily slowed Langford's cash gen. Moraes scoring 60's has a negative -30 break for the next 3 weeks. I just think that is can't miss cash gen.

If you asked who I'd prefer on field going forward it's Langford. It's just easier to get Moraes this week and Langford next week at around 380k
I think I'd much rather get SEH next week @ $230k than Langford @ $380k, make as much $$ as possible with the downgrade.

A lot of talk on the podcasts and on here about Moraes being the number 1 rookie trade in target this week, but surely Langford is a better shout?

1. Langford is cheaper (by $3k, but still)
2. Langford is playing as a CBA midfielder and is likely to stay there in a rebuilding Melbourne team. History tells us that CBA mid is a higher scoring role than winger
3. Langford was higher scoring as a junior (averaged 107 in Coates league v 95 for Moraes)
4. Langford has a FAR easier run over the next 5. Langford has Geel, Ess, Freo, Rich and WCE in next 5 v StK, Haw, Syd, North and WBD for Moraes

Yes, Moraes has the lower BE right now but does that really matters? We have a bunch of other rookies on our bench to cull over the next few weeks, Moraes getting to $500k earlier than Langford doesn't seem to matter a huge amount to me.
The podcasters generally dont know much if anything about the rookies coming through. They just know who has a great BE and who should go up the most in value this week.
If you want a rookie to last longer than a week or two you are probably better off doing some of your own research, as you have done here

Was also thinking Langford/Maric have sub scores to drop off by trade time. Helps price growth.

This is a seriously good point. I am interested in Langford this week then Draper next week with Rachele's injury. Both should get a good run at it for a few weeks whilst Moraes may get subbed or dropped with Butters coming back.

Bonus is you can loop Draper via Lindsay for Gather Round next week as he plays first.
