Buy/Sell Tickets Threads

The forum's basic rules on buying/selling tickets for the 2025 AFL Finals Series:

Q. Can I advertise my tickets on BigFooty?

A. Yes, but only on team boards and with consent of the board moderators.

Before starting these threads - check with the board moderators first. A thread might already exist.

Click the Moderators button top right of the forum thread list for a list of moderators.

The AFL Grand Final is a protected event under legislation and tickets are only permitted to be advertised/sold at no more than 10% of their face value.

GF Tickets advertising at more than 10% above their face value will be deleted when spotted. Continuance of any practice may result in account permanent bans.

Q. Can I post a thread on the main AFL board advertising the sale/purchasing of grand final tickets

A. No.

Only post buy/sell threads on
team boards. Any buy/sell tickets threads on the main board will be deleted. If you’re unsure please contact your board Moderator Super Moderator Administrator and seek further clarification

Q. What happens if I arrange to buy AFL Finals tickets from a BigFooty poster and it turns out to be a scam or the tickets are counterfeit?

A. BigFooty cannot do anything for you.

BigFooty does not warrant the sale of any tickets.
BigFooty does not solicit or generate fees for their sale. Each poster engaging in their purchase or sale does so solely at their own risk. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Or you could just sneak in...

Against an interstate side though - it's also why we could buy 10 on one barcode last week

It'll be interesting to see what decision the AFL makes regarding ticket allowances

Best treat Cats as the home team for priority ticket allocation. If not, what’s the point of having a “regular season.” If I see the G flooded with Hawks fans I may need to buy a new tv next week.

Ahh that sucks, was hoping to take someone.
What are the odds of tickets being available for general public

Edit
I'd also appreciate a barcode if anyone is unable to go.

WEEK THREE FINALS FIXTURE

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

First preliminary final

Geelong v Hawthorn at the MCG, 7.40pm AEST

Tickets on sale through Ticketek on Monday, September 15
10am-2pm AEST: Competing club members
12pm AEST: AFL Members
3pm AEST: General public

(subject to availability)

Sorry for popping up & being that annoying person. But apparently I can only get the 1 ticket for my membership for Friday. Spewing considering I could buy what I wanted for Brissy. If anyone has any member barcodes unable to make it I'd be forever grateful. Don't want to go on my own but will if I have to!

Here for my yearly rant.

The ****ing AFL and Tickettek are run by the biggest bunch of incompetent morons you will ****ing see.
200,000 tickets to be sold, but hey let’s release both games at the same ****ing time.

Seriously what a bunch of useless ****wits
Weird, for Afl membership tickets they've actually seen sense and split the sales times.

It's annoying that they've opted for the sales period to be at the same time for both games, but it's likely to only be around 100k tickets to be sold

The MCC reserve is approx 23k, and similar numbers for the AFL Members Reserve (which has a slightly later release time), so club members would be better vying for around 50k for each match

Doesn't necessarily make it better, but there's not going to be 90k+ competing club members in attendance for both matches

Does anyone have a feel for how early you a log in to Ticketek and be placed in the queue for when the tickets actually go on sale?

They seem to have changed the system this year, because in earlier years, if you clicked the link to buy tickets before they went on sale, you might be in the queue for a while, but then you'd get to the ticket purchase page, and only have about 10 minutes to complete your purchase. So if you logged in too early, then the tickets still wouldn't be available in your 10 minute window, and then you'd lose your place in the queue.

When I booked for the qualifying final, the process seemed to be different, so started off in a lounge prior to the tickets going on sale, and then at the opening of ticket sales, I was put in a queue. The problem was, I only started the process about 20 min before tickets went on sale, and then when the actual queue numbers came in, there were already about 15,000 people (or devices) ahead of me in the queue. By the time I reached the front of the queue, there were no seats on level 2 available at all.

So I'd like to hear anyone's insight of how early you can log in to get nearer the front of the queue. Thanks.

Hey folks, I/we are first year AFL members (Bronze) with nominated Geelong club support - hoping someone can help me clarify: Can we purchase at 10am (Club members) or do we need to wait for 12pm (AFL members)?

I assume you get the opportunity to do one or the other.

The Lounge is new - it was in use last year with purchasing Oasis tickets

Was speaking to my neighbour who is a Pies member apparently there game doesn’t go on sale until Tuesday (she is annoyed as she took tomorrow off thinking tickets would go on sale for both games as in previous years)

The fact the both games are not going on sale at the same time, should hopefully relieve some of the pressure on the site

This is from Collingwood, but it should be the same for our match

Thanks for this. I've got the AFL spreadsheet for the 2022 finals prices but not this years. Man they make it hard to find such things. I think that's why I kept the 2022 one. I remember it was difficult to find the link for that as well.

That's what I thought as this is what's advised on Collingwood's info page where I got ticket prices from

Tickets for the Preliminary Final will go on sale Tuesday, 16 September:

  • Competing Club Members 10AM – 2PM (AEST)
  • AFL Members (MCG) 12PM (AEST)
  • General Public 3PM (AEST)

I was looking at some info on the AFL website before posting the above info and they had a link to "ticket prices" - it linked to the 2023 prices 😂

Apparently bronze members aren't getting access this year unfortunately
AFL membership threads are telling me:

I'm a bronze AFL member with Hawthorn club support. I'm guessing my odds of getting a ticket is close to zero?
You’re entitled to get a ticket via Hawks membership allocation I believe.
You should be able to use your afl barcode in the club member sale. You will just have to pay club member prices.

AFL membership threads are telling me:
I'm not sure. I think it's worth having a go in the club member sale.
This is what the email I got says:

edit: now I read it more closely, it says gold and silver members with club support can access the club member sale. Nothing about bronze. You might be out of luck unfortunately. Screenshot_20250914_142721_Gmail.jpg
