The queue is moving despite tickets not available yet..

Every year it is a shit show.
Allowing 10 tickets is ridiculous imo.
If they insist on that number, limit it to Club Support Members.

Edit: Seems we're somewhat all in agreement.

10 tickets per transaction is OK. Allows people to sit together.

I am happy with 1 ticket per barcode.

If history is any indication, you'll get Level 2. Somehow ticketek algorithm will have prioritised level 4, row FF as better seats than level 2.

its says no longer for sale. Which is weird. I would have thought club members should be able to buy tickets up until all tix are exhausted. Sure, have them compete with general public but not sure why they are locked out

If Members wish to purchase after the Member pre-sale they will need to purchase via the general public on-sale. No barcodes are required outside of the Member pre-sale window.

Anyone getting any GA tickets?

My team don't go to the G much these days so have a question. Does mcg actually have any good standing spots u can go if u have seats but not together. Marvel has some great options the view bar the standing room on the wing on level 2 and under each scoreboard on l3 plus the entire bottom level. My memory of the mcg is there are pokie reserved terrace things only. Are there any actual nice spots that won't be reserved

He's talking about AFL members with competing club support should be ahead of AFL members with non-competing club support.

See what happens now - an Essendon member for example, buys a ticket and sells it to his Collingwood mate, who isn't even a member. And genuine members who support Collingwood miss out.

I like how the MCC has photo ID on the member card, and even when you upgrade your membership to a reserve seat, you still use your actual membership to get entry. Makes it a bit harder to sell to your mates.

In 23, I was at the GF with a mate who had secured an MCC ticket in the ballot, but then we got better ones in the members. Once he had entered the G to sit with us, he dumped his 11yo daughter with me, then exited the ground with a passout, then entered the MCC under his ballot ticket(if he didn't use it, he was going to miss out on later opportunities), then exited, then re-entered with his passout.

Moral of the story - the GF attendance number was out by at least 1.

Bloody had 4 tickets on level 2 and my bank needed authorisation, by the time I’d done it time ran out. Shattered I can’t go but will be cheering the boys on from home

I know of at least one person that entered without a ticket, so can offset that one.

Yep MCC penalises if you take up a seat and don’t show up. My dad met the same fate. He was too unwell to go to the game. Had to get a doctor to verify it!!

After visiting Adelaide Oval, i've realised how bad the MCG standing room actually is. i can't stand it.

Thought we had missed out but my wife pulled a rabbit out of a hat, news agent was able to get us tickets. Bloody stoked now, we are up in row q but are now going when I thought we weren’t

Was only 500 in the queue when 12pm came around - got P24. Result!

I was similar, around 580 when the queue stopped and got P22.

Sunday morning traditionally

Competing Teams Gold First
Then All Gold
Then Competing Silver
Then all Silver

Silver wont get a look in as it wont get past Gold in step 2.

Even last year with two non Victorian teams playing, it didn't get to Silver.

Well, it turns out that the people that had expressed interest now either can’t take all three of our tickets, or have pulled out altogether. So our three tickets are back up for grabs. Located together Level 4 mid Q50s, front.

PM me if interested. Otherwise will look at offloading to family.

Background: We each purchased a Grand Finals Plus Pass from the AFL Event Office when the tickets went on sale a few months back. Site here:

It’s the one that says “from $1,795”. We paid $2,195 to get better quality seats. The pass includes GF tickets plus Prelim tickets plus a gift thing (we got them given how well the Pies were playing in the middle of the year. I’m only an interstate member so had little chance of securing a GF ticket otherwise). We all have young families and can’t get away from our wives and kids two weeks in a row, so we are taking the punt that we’ll make it to the GF!

In terms of sale price we’d just want the fair market price ($150ea x3). Happy to facilitate video call or exchange of ID or something if the people need confidence
