Carlton were at least in the same middle bracket as us. Hawthorn and GWS on the other hand were in the top bracket and end up playing an extra game against a bottom 6 side than we do. Cool cool.

Happy with it at first glance. We had our best results in the hardest part of our fixture last year so it all really is meaningless if we don't perform.

Not sure who's unhappy here. We have been looked after massively for a team that finished 6th. Glad we aren't playing Dees round 1 as they usually flog us anyway.

Agree there are plenty of positives, but we finished 7th, so were in the middle 6 bracket for double ups. In that regard our draw should look more similar to the 12th placed team than the top team.

Who's fault would that be? The fixture or us?

We generally don't start the season well and haven't finished it well apart from this year really either.

Playing North round 1 should give us the win to kick off the campaign we deseprately need.

As always, the first 5 games will be key. We simply must be 3-2 after the first 5 weeks.

On the surface, it is a soft draw. But we all know there is a bit of fluctuation from year to year within the top 8. I'd expect 2 or 3 new challengers this year.
