Hi all,

Did the ticket prices go up a ridiculous amount over he off season?? Last year I went to the Saints game and got tickets on the Verndah. They were $90 but this year they want $160. That is mental
Supply and demand, that is the way a capitalistic system works, sadly for us serfs.

The club should be very careful with these price gouges. I get it, we're doing well, but not too long ago, we couldn't even get 15k to the Gabba. Don't alienate the fans who are supporting you now, because if our performances ever drop, they will remember that, and would be less likely to support us during the more bad times.

I suspect they're pushing people towards the various memberships by the new pricing.

PROBABLY TRUE. I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING ON THE VERNDAH AGAIN WITH A GROUP OF 8 MATES BUT FOR $160 A TICKET THEY CAN FORGET IT. AN ACCEPTABLE PRICE INCREASE UP TO $100-120 WOULD OF BEEN OK BU $160 IS HORRIFIC

and we can likely expect the big matchup of Carlton vs Essendon for Friday night footy.
Blues/Dons will be the Thursday night, that's the only confirmed timeslot other than Wednesday night for SUNS/Dons. The AFL could also hold Port/SUNS on the Thursday night at the same time as Blues/Dons, or that'll be the Friday night game.

They don't give a toss about who plays on Sunday night all year and seem to think that they're going to build some kind of drama for one game of the year in that time slot when if it's a crucial game they'd attract far more interest in a friendly time slot.

After having the best game of this round and the only game worth watching not on FTA on a Saturday night when everyone would like to watch.

The fixturing and scheduling of TV slots this year has been a complete disaster and resulted in a big drop off in interest in the game.

Honestly, these guys are complete dunces and the mind boggling money spent on AFL salaries for all the mates hasn't helped the viewer or supporter interest one iota.

Only possibly good outcome would be if they stuffed it up badly and by the time we played the Hawks they knew they were already eliminated from finals contention or already in but were unable to change their finish position.

I don't think that will be the case.

I don't think that will be the case.

If Hawks beat pies this thursday and other favourites win all other games (we beat Freo in round 22, Dogs beat Freo in round 23) then the Hawks are locked into an elimination final at the MCG against the Dogs and a win wouldn't mean anything for them in round 23.

More complicated if Freo beat the dogs, would be a difference for the Hawks of travelling to perth or hosting them at the MCG.

Pretty confident if the Hawks lose on Thursday then they have to beat us to make the 8 regardless, but they won't be eliminated by the time our game starts.
