A 5 day break between games is absolutely ridiculous. No team should have only 5 days between games.
It's just the reality of having Thursday night footy as part of the landscape now. Not possible to continually source Thursday night match-ups just from the four teams who played on the Thursday and Friday of the previous week - it doesn't work.

It's good that there are no 4-day breaks (Sunday to Thursday) but presumably we have the Players Association to thank for that, rather than the AFL.

What do we reckon for round 24 - a Thursday or Friday night?
With GCFC & ESS reportedly set to play the Wed after, surely they both need to play either Thursday or Friday in R24 to suit up for the Wed with enough of a break each.

With rounds now stretching from Thursday night to Sunday arvo, there's no way any team should have a 5 day break..except for ANZAC Day.

3 games in 11 days with 2 interstate trips is beyond a joke and very unfair.

I know we pull a big TV audience but we have so many night games. Thursday night footy is great to watch at home but it's such an effort to knock off, get home to see the family then get to the game. Then getting home late and having work the next day is rough. Really feel for families and kids who miss out.

It’s about time the AFL gave us a full year of exposure to prime time.
Now we need to take full advantage and make it count.

That is incredibly challenging.
Are the Pies also travelling before we match them on Friday night?
Nope they will have played West Coast.
And Hawks twice??
Pies twice..always.
Bombers x 2 always..
GWS x 2
Is that GC in round 22( no idea what that symbol is.
And Port twice within a short frame?

Yuk.

We play 3 games in 11 days including travel from Perth and Adelaide. What a joke this league has become.

It sucks a lot and totally stupid fixturing.

At least the first two games are against the jokes of the competition and should be training sessions.

For the 2 games we have a 5 day break our opponent also has a 5 day break
Spot on. The one which really stuffed us around last year was where we played the last game of one round and the first game of the next. From memory, Port Adelaide (our opponents in the second of those games) had an additional two days’ break. They fell over the line against us in the last quarter.

Who is the best person on here to talk to about ticketing and seating at Marvel?

15 year interstate member

Planning a trip from QLD for Port game, have contacted the club for options and now looking for some local intel

What’s happened to giving the top teams who are preforming the prime time slots, has the AFL decided to change the format once again…

On form Carlton & the injectors should absolutely not have been given these time slots, Crows Suns Gee all just the one game each…

It's tv ratings not form. We rate better even when not going so well

Not on FTA!

Carlton will take on arch-rivals Esssendon for the 255th time at the MCG on Thursday 21 August at 7:30pm (AEST).
This will be the second time the Blues will take on the Bombers this season, following a tight eight-point victory in Round 13.

It will be Blues' fans last chance to see the team in action for the 2025 season, with ticketing information to be released next week and will be broadcast live exclusively on FOX Footy/Kayo Sports.

Strange since we're not in finals you'd try to give the finalists as much break as possible, even though there is a week off. Surely thought we'd be chucked in a crappy Sunday slot.

* have a 2nd game 6 days later in Rnd 24

Wednesday, August 27
Gold Coast v Essendon, People First Stadium, 7.20pm AEST
