Last time I checked, this is a professional competition. The aim is to beat the team you are fixtured to play against. Pretty basic stuff if you ask me.
Maybe we can lobby the AFL so the opposition doesn't play their best 22 against us to give us a chance to win. It's not fair all these other teams have so many good players.........

Maybe if they don’t try we might win - body language expert Devil Fish might be able to help

Farkin oath. I hope the players have that mindset this season too. Let’s rise up.

I can’t wait to be six weeks in & sitting 4-2 & all of a sudden oppo teams are looking at the fixture & thinking, hey maybe these easy-beats aren’t easy-beats any more.

We need a mix of competitive games and wins Rd 1-7

Another season starting off with losses means the season is over by May

And let’s not forget the woeful Rd 24 performance this year before we start pumping our chests bring it on mentality fmd

Assuming we might have the bye round 15? Not a big fan of the fixture double ups, but we can't have that an excuse. Time to win 5-8 games at least. Hopefully a softer start to the season with games against Richmond, Saints, Bombers or Dees

Carlton, Hawthorn, Geelong, Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions will each play three Thursday night games in the first 16 weeks.

In all, 15 of the 18 clubs will play Thursday night football at least once in the first 16 weeks of the season.

That's a tough draw.

I am sure you weren't expecting anything better?

it is a FIXture.

The AFL will take every chance they have to shunt us to timeslots that limit any growth while at the same time having a schedule that is designed to make it practically the hardest that it can be.

We have been on the bottom for forever and our fixture continues to typically rate in the top handful for hardest draws. We consistently get quicker turnarounds against harder opponents. Travel to everywhere. We don't help ourselves in this regard, we had no exit plan in regard to Tassie and now our exit plan is to play on the other side of the continent. increasing our travel.

This is also a whole of club thing. We got the hardest draw in the AFLW. I mean we finished first, without dropping a game, a percentage of a billion and our reward was a 6 day turnaround into an opponent with an extra day off.

I am not 100% that it is a bias against us or whether we are just ranked 18th when it comes to any consideration that comes out of AFL house.

It does not matter what the fixture is for us, we will be screwed, and likely face challenges that no other club gets. Just like every other year.

Can I take a wild guess at who one of the remaining three clubs will be please Eddie.

It’s the same old story with the fixture. We just get what’s left over.

I don’t think that will ever change regardless of where we are on the ladder. The best it will ever get is 2 or 3 extra prime time fixtures.

My concern is the travel. We travel just as much as interstate teams without the home ground advantage. Plus we have the trip down the highway set in stone as well.

We need to rectify this or we will never have sustained periods down the pointy end.

my only issue, to maximise attendance why would you not put it on vic school holidays. was close, only 2 weeks prior.
This. Myself and my wife are looking at coming over for a week with the 2 kids "if" the games were during the July school holidays. Now we are hearing the games will be a week of June with one over the Kings birthday long weekend. If we still want to go to see the games, we have to take the girls out of school for a week, which may stop us from coming at all.
