what is the consensus on sanders? probably the only player i have that’s not somewhat locked in. is it smarter to downgrade him to either kako or berry to then turn FOS into a washcroft or callaghan?

Way too awkwardly priced for mine, together with the unknowns (how long is Bont actually out for, is Richards back, Treloar not far away?). Guess at his price it’s easy to trade down to a mid or forward rookie bolter. But yeah I’m avoiding him for those reasons.

Will be decent for 2 weeks then moves down a notch in Rd 3 with Treloar back, then down to 5th in mid rotation by Rd 5 with Bont back. Not sure it's enough time to make the cash he needs to at the price

Juggling him and SPP.. surely Tommy has more spike games which are really what you need.

R3 vs Saints. R6 vs Suns @ Marvel.
  • 32
  • Hasn't played more than four games in the past two seasons
  • Still been hindered somewhat during the PS
  • KPF
  • Richmond are quite possibly going to be historically bad and entries will be extremely limited as a result
Guy's a walking red flag IMO.

He needs to make $100-150k for an upgrade or it’s pointless picking him.
There is upside, but there is many to return and the Bevo factor too.

Really hard to say, just hat a fairly interrupted time of out for quite a while now.
Agree that he has that capacity to kick bags, just hard to know if he will string together the games.
Have gone Berry in the meantime, partly $

He has definite upside but is a handball merchant and doesn’t rack up many metres gained so the ceiling is a bit low for mine.
Kako and Berry will be erratic in their scoring and probably best played from the bench with loops when available.

Hey HT, what are your thoughts on Robert Hansen JR? Thought he 'had something' the other day in the praccy match, do you think he will get the gig on the wing?

Would definitely leave out. Minor wing Time but mostly his role will be pushing up the ground in no man’s land as pockets & flankers end up doing.

His strength is his skill of kicking inside 50 - he’s a Temu Gryan Miers at this point of his career.

Absolute Best case scenario would be he averages 55 (around the mark of Cottrell in 2024 in a similar dead position role) but probably see it around the 40-45 mark.

Big development year for him ultimately. We haven’t had a player with his skill set develop into a best 22 player for years, so if he can take the jump it’d be great for us but still won’t be a big SC scoring role.

Queue the laughs but is anyone considering Finlayson?

Leaning towards better options for a similar price but he looks really good in defence. I think his one of those blokes who can be a very good footballer if he has the right role....

Yes, strongly.

Look ultimately it’s a controversial opinion but I don’t think Luke Ryan is a star player. If you take out his kick ins, and remove his uncontested marks that can’t be attributed to intercepts, he averages around 12 disposals a game.

Yet he’s undoubtedly a SuperCoach star.

No reason Finlayson can’t get 8-9 real disposals a game including 1-2 intercept marks & then if he gets the right role, 8-10 cheap disposals a game & he ends up averaging ~100 based on long kicks.

I’m not starting with Finlayson, however I’ve got Rankine as my F2 & fully prepared to make the move to Finlayson early if he gets the right role. Just 1 PS game against St Kilda is not quite enough evidence - I want at least 3 games (so 2 H&A) and will make it a priority move.

If Rediy is named, Jackson is a forward. He needs to be no 1 ruck to score well. If Voss plays instead of Rediy, Jackson comes in to consideration.
Reidy is so not ready to be first ruck, Jacko will be in there a lot.

What's the go with Jack Hutchinson?

37% CBA's Rd 24 last year for a 102 - had 16 CP's and 6 clearances. An earlier game he had 74 and had 10 tackles. Eagles love him and looks like he may get some mid time? Updated team sheets for Sunday (I know it's not gospel) has him starting on ball with Telly and Harley.

$233k forward, unsure on Harcia ATS

Maric back in the frame now?
Not sure. He struggled to get a look-in over pre-season despite the stories of him taking Hurn's spot in the side. We're got nothing to go on at the moment so it would be brave to take him in now. I've got a keen eye on the Maric / H.Garcia / Wicks priced area, haha.

Good luck. I am tempted, but he's going to put in some low scores as well due to his role, will give another look this week.

No one keen on Jack Graham?

I was all pre season but ultimately Macrae & Daniel are better value for money.
JHF, Rankine & Baker are all going to score better & more reliably too.
And then Stone & Davidson are at this point must have rookies. Kako too.

So if you’ve still got spots left he’d be in the final spot with Finlayson for me. Think he’ll go around 90 which is solid for forwards but just not must pick territory.

Not sure. Absolutely loved his role last week. Willing to back himself, leave his man and break away. I have zero concerns starting him. Every single year there’s rookie’s I miss and have to adjust to. If he fails, I just downgrade to one of those missed rookies and bank 100k for an early upgrade. Arguably a win-win if you look at it that way.

You've sold me just about haha. You prefer him to H.Garcia?? From a POD perspective it could be a great move if Wicks works out. It's just H.Garcia is looking a mid rotations and could average a bit more, so there's an element of being left behind if Wicks has an "off game" where he might score a 40-50 whilst I think H.Garcia might consistently look at 70-80 on the regular. But you're right, it didn't look like he was exclusively glued to Watson last week, so hopefully those 40-50 scores might not be too often?
