I'm all for Hawthorn bashing but we won 1 game. Like the rest of the finalists they're in a completely different league to us.

Looking at the game tonight they didn’t look very good.

Couldn’t find space all night and Brisbane continually cut through them like Sydney did to us in the second half.

Newcombe (he’s good) Worpel, Ward, Moore, Nash and whoever else they run through the midfield are not an overly inspiring group.
Their best asset is their coach.

I might be EP2018'ing it here but I'd rather the Hawks play Freo than GWS... Freo have proven there credentials today & GWS are too flaky for my liking. If they beat the giants they likely play Collingwood who they've beaten recently too.

Hawks play the MCG unbelievably well. Optus is very close to the G. Ran them super close six odd weeks ago.

I’d rather they go to a weirdo venue, and also losing from 8th is a better pick than losing from 7th.

Hawthorn have failed every test in true outside of Victoria games since their run started in the middle of last year. Beat bottom four WCE, Adelaide before losing GWS then Poort in the finals. This year, getting the jump on an underprepared Sydney in Round 0, before losing to Port, GC, Fremantle, Adelaide and now Brisbane.

All relatively close games (except for Poort) but away from their MCG/Tassie, their lack of star power in the midfield and workman like players are exposed.

You don’t know what you are going to get with GWS so it could turn, but let’s hope the trend continues.
