He's an injury prone player from the start of his career until the end of his career.
He'll be 28 when he plays his next game.
That's 10 years for not much return from an Academy kid who went for way too high a draft pick & who has cost the club a packet in investment in such a program.

But have no fear folks! We have the next rising star from our academy to look forward to.
Even with major injuries he is still playing on average 18 games a year.
In his draft class

When you look at that table it wasn't the best top end draft but realistically he is still the 2nd or 3rd best player in the draft and we got him for what im guessing 4 picks in the 40s?

EDIT: we picked him up with 33 36 37 and 43

That's a really unnecessary and over the top post there Ted.
Mills injuries have been a huge disappointment to all of us but that's just the way footy goes, a fully fit Mills is a wonderful footballer. Unfortunately his body keeps letting him down - arm wrestling aside.

And I really have no words for the Cleary sarcasm.

And then there were Sam and Ben Reid both winning flags , but imagine how good both would've been without injuries

That’s fair enough Jewelsy.
I went early while hot headed after reading about the injury.
I still think he won’t play until Rd 7-10.
Feet are always a problem for fitness because you can’t run so it will take a few extra weeks to be match fit.
Glad to have a crack at anyone caught with drugs.
The other choice is to go home & have a coffee. He chose to find drugs so he’ll have to cop what comes his way.

Understand your frustration, God knows I share it! Didn't think the Cleary crack was necessary that all.

Players can't be blamed for most injuries. It's hard enough to maintain peak fitness in a non-contact sport. As long as the club did their initial homework, the medicos and coaches are competent and the player is prepared to work their butt off to recover, the rest is up to the beardy fellow in the clouds, the queen of karma, the bright orange criminal or whoever your god may be

He said he would be back next week , what changed ?
Guessing the results of the scan showed instead of it being soreness of the plantar fascia that it was in fact a tear and thats the reason why the timeline was extended. It is similar to Jagga Smith who Carlton and himself thought it was a minor injury and turned out he had fully done his ACL. Scan results can change initial thoughts around injuries
