Great opportunity for Buller to make it in the AFL.
It’s now or never.
Great opportunity to see if we should invest in him further in the next few years.
I think he can provide something we need.
i thought him pretty good last week. didn't panic, contested really well and brought the ball to ground to advantage on several occasions, one that ended in a goal and the others ended in opportunities for goal.

He led up well and has good hands. He also chases and tackles, like Joel does.

Bowman and Adams have senior list contracts for next season so they will be at the club next season.
If Adams retires, which he could, the contract is a negotiation between him and the club. For reference see Kurt Tippett's last year where he was on the list but never played. But If Adams were to negotiate a settlement his contract for next season can be negated. As to Bowman, it is a pity he is contracted as he is not anywhere near AFL standard at this time.

AFL contract Rules;

(b) All Contracts of Service lodged with the AFL under these Rules shall terminate or expire (other than by reason of default or breach which entitles any party to terminate) on or prior to the 31st day of October in the final year in which the Player's services are to be provided under such contract.

4.8 Players Bound if Listed(a) A Player shall be bound to a Club if he or she is properly included on the Club'sList in accordance with these Rules. This Rule does not apply to a Player listedon a Club’s Rookie List, in which case Rule 10.3 applies.(b) If a contract between a Club and a Player expires on 31 October in any year, thePlayer shall remain registered as a Player of and be bound to the Club until theconclusion of the National Draft Selection Meeting in the relevant year. ThisRule does not apply if the Club deletes the Player’s name from its List during theperiod 31 October until the time and day when the de-listed Player is able tonominate for the National Draft Selection Meeting under Rule 6.2(c).(c) If a Player remains bound to a Club by reason of Rule 4.8(b), the Club must payto the Player an allowance in the amount determined from time to time by theAFL and AFLPA.

A retirement in any term of the contract would be seen as either a Default of Contract. This is able to happen if Tay Adams were to retire at the end of the year. He has had three injuries this year, one preseason, and he must be thinking time is catching up.

Bowman is a first year draftee in a crap team and had a disrupted start to the year. I wasn't happy with the pick, but at least give him some time.

If Adams retires and there is a payout he would need to out to the rookie list. Like we did in the past with Tippett. He'll be on our list next year.

That was a pretty bad piece of negotiation by the Swans really. But If Adams were to negotiate a settlement his contract for next season can be negated. You must watch fantasy footy on Fox.
This another planet stuff.
I cannot seriously reply to you.
I will just be kind.

Adams won't retire. He's hungry for that elusive flag, and, according to the media, he is the only player in V/AFL history to have missed out on a flag.

You're assuming that Adams will retire and either forgo his contract for next year or have a payout so small it would fit into our salary cap for this year.

He won't forgo his contract and his payout would need to be spread over this year and next year so that we don't go over the salary cap. Any payout included for next year would mean he would need to be moved to the rookie list which is what we did with Tippett.

We also delisted and moved Francis to the rookie list under contract. So there are other ways to open up a senior list for Adams.

It’s funny that we are talking about Hamling not being there next year after his best game for the club.

It just shows what a good selection it was to play him. Our season is still alive on the back of some of his nous, skills and experience.

Hamling and Francis are great depth players and I would be hesitant to get rid of either until we are able to work out whether Edwards, Snell or Andrew’s can play to their level. Obviously the aim would be they can play to a higher level, hopefully 1-2 can, but realistically you don’t throw away depth and experience until there is some base level of output from the up and comers.
Hamling's performance has shown just how odd was Longmire's disinclination to play him.
He has improved with each outing, getting to work with the other guys. He's definitely IMO a better lockdown defender than Francis (though Francis has more strings to his bow).

I'm more worried about our fitness staff
That's true. They did choose to give Papley dodgy hammies instead of Chad Warner or Hayden McLean or Isaac Heeney or Tom McCartin or Will Hayward or James Rowbottom or Errol Gulden or Dane Rampe or Harry Cunningham or Sam Wicks or James Jordon or Brodie Grundy or Peter Ladhams or Justin McInerney or Jake Lloyd or Nick Blakey or Matt Roberts or Ollie Florent or Angus Sheldrick or Caiden Cleary or Corey Warner...

Clever , but we had a great run with injuries last year and lost our man to Carlton and yes they've had injuries

Hamling is a defender thats it dont expect him to play forward and have regular contributions.

Longmire was best 22 and THATS IT unless injured (well your playing anyways)

That is good news about Robbie Fox and his concussion. Hopefully we see him in the VFL at Tramway the following week.

Given Lachie Hunter wandered out for a few impromptu VFL games, I wonder what Sam Reid is doing at the moment?

He’d be handy given the diabolical state of our VFL list.
