Seems least likely candidate in afl to only need a short break
I think there is probably an understanding at the Swans that if TMac gets a head knock then the club will automatically enter him into protocols regardless of how he goes in the HIA. There seems to be an abundance of caution with him - and rightly so.

I hope he misses the Giants game too! We need him next year, not for the pipe dream of eighth place.

True hope so

Tom McCartin
Tom continues to progress through the AFL Concussion Guidelines and has completed several rehabilitation and cardio sessions.

The club will continue to take a cautious approach, therefore he will be unavailable to play this Friday night against GWS. TBC

Will Edwards
Will is increasing the intensity and speed of his change of direction and running drills. He has recommenced introductory rehab skills this week. 5-6 weeks.

Logan McDonald
Logan completed a 2-week block of rehab skills. He will commence modified team skills this week. 1-2 weeks.

Taylor Adams
Taylor completed modified team skills and reconditioning running last week. He is a test to return to play this week. TEST

Joel Amartey
Joel has recommenced off legs conditioning following his adductor strain. He maintains a focus on low limb single leg and adductor strengthening. 8-10 weeks

Tom Papley
Tom’s hamstring tolerated max velocity progressions last week. He is a test to return to play this Friday night against GWS. TEST

Adams will struggle to get a game without a reshuffle I would think.

We're competing well in the clearance game, Sheldrick has done enough to keep his spot and Lloyd's resurgence in his new role would suggest there's no place for Adams in the forward line.

Roberts and Bice are most vulnerable but Adams isn't a replacement for them.

Adams comes back via VFL. Anything less and its just pure doubling down on the original mistake if signing him

We aren’t just competing in the midfield. In the last 5 weeks (small ish sample) we are the best team from stoppage. Something like +22pts differential per game in that area

Therefore playing Adams would kick imo Sheldrick out the door. Increase Adams reinjury risk and just worsen the side

Oh 100% he should come back via the VFL. I'm just wondering where he fits in our best 22 at all.
I'd say he's behind Cleary, Dattoli, Florent, Corey and Hanily. Also prefer to shuffle some magnets to get Bowman in before Adams. But like yours and everyone else on here's opinion, it means nothing and wouldn't be surprised to see him in for someone like Gus soon.........

How does Logan go from 5-7 last week to 1-2 this week?

Not that it's a bad thing but what the hell is going on with our medical department? How do they get these things so wrong? Will Amarty be 3 weeks away next week also?

"Amartey…8-10 weeks"
If GWS is week 1, then 8 weeks = preliminary final, 10 = he misses Mad Monday.
Very optimistic at Swans HQ

Speaking of Logan, have there been any comments at all from Cox about his positioning? Although he spent a bit of time down back out of necessity last season, I think his home is absolutely on the half forward line.

Great to have some versatility but just wonder if there has been anything said by Cox to indicate his view.

Someone feel free to correct me but didn't Cox talk up Logan as a potential back man? Some vague recollection about it allowing us flexibility?

If you saw the training pics and videos he has been doing plenty the last couple of weeks

So coming out of last night, the injuries we know about so far are McLean (concussion) and Hamling (hamstring)

Papley maybe given a week off with that hit he got in the back in the first 20 sec of the game

Only players who might be in consideration this coming week are TMac and Logan
