I’d force him to play out his contract. I have no sympathy for campaigners like him and his plastic missus who want the money and the lifestyle without having to deliver anything of value. We have plenty of cap space and one list spot isn’t going to kill us for one year.

I get your sentiment I'm just keen to fukc off the no hopers & not have them around our younger players.

Ruck is a very limited market and there's always the merry-go-round at trade time, so there shouldn't be any need to pay him out. As you say, even a future fourth would be worth it to get the list spot. If there's no takers though, we're rooted.

This is the ideal scenario, but if there are no takers, I'd rather make him earn his wage than pay him for sitting at home on the couch. Agree that we need cultural change, but I don't think "if you skip out on the team we'll pay you to do nothing instead" is the cultural change we need. That's what he'd love us to do.

Ruthlessness is delisting Finlayson and Burton. Ruthlessness is also holding Soldo to his contract (unless someone wants to take him off our hands). Different treatments for different players in different situations.

The pair had knee arthroscopies earlier this month to clean out the joint and best prepare them for the 2026 season.

Both players are expected to have minimal impact to their pre-season training capacity.
