I actually don't think Dimma was that great of a speaker, he used to stumble over words a lot as well, forget sayings etc. People just perceived him as being greater than he was because of our success.

His strength was he was able to get the players to buy in to what he was saying, but he wasn't the greatest speaker imo

Used to suck his tongue a lot as well when thinking about what to say next

Just as annoying as the ums once you notice it, same as the Trent Cotchin breath before every sentence

Dimma was elite at using themes to inspire the playing group. It worked for him. Macrae similar. Sam Mitchell does not use themes at all. Don't tell me Chris Fagan delivers an inspiring speech, but his players love him and play for him.
