That’s got a good blend of current leadership group, older players, mid range with Fog and young leader in Max.

I'd only make one very glaring change out of that so I guess 80% hit rate is alright.

that 20% is really stinky though

The players obviously have great respect for ROB around the club as many have stated, there's more to being a leader than being an elite footballer.

Would have strongly preferred Hinge or MM over RoB. Otherwise good.

Keeping ROB in the team shows what a leader he is in every aspect of the club except performance on field. I think he is very highly respected by the young kids who learn a lot from him.

He's not the first leader to be under pressure for his spot though.

I wouldn't have selected him, I think off field leaders can still be off field leaders without the title, but clearly I'm old school - there's a lot more to it than there use to be.

As long as we win I'm fine with it.

Agree to an extent but a leader should be one of the examples on field as well.

And yet we have a clear 'good blokes' policy. You'd think all those great blokes from good families would be perfect for the leadership team.
Or does playing ability actually matter?

It is pretty damning for Ogilvie. Especially on the back of 8 years of missed finals and therefore good draft picks.

Only difference to my pick is ROB for Max. Which is not at all surprising since ROB does seem to have some sort of leadership qualities with his off field stuff.

It's light years ahead of last year's efforts.

I'm glad we put ANB in there. Would have been very "play it safe" to leave him out for a year. When someone like that comes in you take their strengths and embrace it. Guy knows what it takes to win a flag, I definitely endorse him telling our younger guys what to do.
