He can **** off for all i care if he doesn’t want to commit and history shows they rarely sign on when the contracts are always put on hold. If he wanted to stay he would of been locked in already.

Re TDK contract

I tend to follow the “bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush”

I do recognise however that TDK value is still based a bit on potential, but a mobile ruck who can clunk a mark and kick a goal who is not a waste when it hits the ground - that is someone we need to retain

Sure we can’t throw $1.5m a season at him but $1m a year seems fair
I suspect we had to keep Pittonet on an average salary ($500k) until TDK commits
It probably leads to us to losing Pittonet and a best 22 player like Williams and a fringe player like Cottrell
Maybe we can fit in TDK but Walsh also needs to be paid so we would be naive in thinking keeping TDK at $1m won’t have ramifications

Option 1 - Retain TDK
TDK $1.1m
2nd Rd Draftee. $100k
3rd Rd Draftee. $100k
Low draftee. $100k

Option 2 - let TDK go
Pittonet (comp =2nd Rd) $500k
Williams (3rd Rd) $500k
Cottrell. $300k
Pick 10-18. $100k

I am okay with paying TDK, I am keen to back in the King - he could be a game changer and get us a flag in the next few years (as a key part of puzzle) but also think:

• Pittonet backup could be given to HOK if they think he is coming along
• Williams is a loss but I think we could replace him with another small forward or resting mid
• Cottrell or similar below average payments will move on every season and replaced with draftees - that’s BAU

Yep, I don't get it....maybe Vossy's just got an obsession with delisted Port Adelaide small forwards.

We're well stocked in that area, so I just can't see the logic.

From a recruitment piece, yes (although Voss still decides who ultimately gets removed from the list)

However Austin doesn't pick them yo actually play. Recruiting them is one thing but actually playing them is another.

Disappointed it wasn't Liam. Couldn't have had a better year at VFL level (Won B&F, CHF in VFL team of the year..) he's the right age, height and a very handy backup if Harry or Charlie go down for an extended period.

100%. Not sure another small/medium fwd is what we needed. We've got 8 of them already.

Motlop, Williams, Cottrell, Durdin, Fantasia, Elijah, Fogarty, Moir...

Disagree. Take it with a grain of salt i suppose, but I’ve heard he was far from impressive during pre season

Realistically could even be someone who has been training for another club looking for an opportunity.

Would have preferred a tall but the coaches are the only ones that have seen them train this pre-season. Have to have faith they have seen something in Evans that will make him a beneficial addition to the list
