Can’t see Collingwood letting him go while in contract, with no replacement and especially to usI reckon we go hard for Darcy Cameron.

NWM will either stay at the saints or go to SANWM is available.
We have the money set aside for TDK to lure him with …
His continuing crusade against the father son rule.
We Could always try getting someone’s kid to write him a letter with 20 cents in itAbsolutely love TDK. Will be very disappointed if he leaves. My kids will be shattered, they love the king.
What Saints are offering is absurd though, $1.7 million is far too much.
I still hold out hope he will stay for unders like all our other stars have.
They’re a pathetic, insignificant club that cannot support themselves and who just try to want change (draft / away jumper, competeive balance, etc.) so they can become something. Truly sad being a Aints supporter. His continuing crusade against the father son rule.
If TdK takes the an offer like StKilda’s we are only talking $300k more after tax. $6000 dollars a week. In the scheme of things, it’s not that great as he’ll be earning good money with us as well. What he gives up is the Carlton family, network and future business opportunities that I don’t believe he’ll get at the Saints. IMO, Short term gain for long term loss.
This. "Only 300k extra a year" is probably some of the funniest shit I've read on hereThis assumes that post-footy he wants to get into business.
"Only $300k extra after tax"? Over a 7-year deal! Two million extra dollars.
Maybe he wants to bank the money now, buy a few investment properties for steady rental income and capital gains, and then spend the next 30 years of his life living by the beach and surfing every day...
Not everyone wants a career. If I won the lottery I'd certainly be eyeing off an early retirement and a relaxing lifestyle. This offer from St Kilda is very much a lottery win for TDK.
.
l would absolutely not define this offer by the Saints as a smart move.
Firstly they already have a quality ruckman, How many two ruck combo's have actually worked.
TDK is a very good player, the offer from Carlton probably still makes him our highest paid player, if he elects to leave l don't see him flourishing at all being a dual ruck with Marshall.
If Saints have that much spare cash much smarter for them to identify some other quality many other players eg Zac Butters gun player etc.
l can also see the upside for us if he does go eg a high draft pick and chasing a Zak Butters the following with the spare cash.
Ask Aaron Hammil how he feels - currently he's working as an Assistant Coach at Carlton - after having went for the money to Shit Kilda over 20 year ago - doesn't look like he was too looked after in life after football at Shit Kilda.
Saint clearly want to hold all their picks. Butters would cost a huge amount of money and all the picks they have this year and next to get him out of his contractl would absolutely not define this offer by the Saints as a smart move.

St Kilda’s last 25 years has been streets ahead of ours. He made the right call.
To be fair they are a rabble, but I take your point about stones and glass houses etc.Yep - I get the tired of the 'St. Kilda are a rabble' mentality on here. It's quite frankly embarrassing and delusional. They have been better than us in modern times.
l can that point but absolutely ridiculous amount of $ to offer TDK.Saint clearly want to hold all their picks. Butters would cost a huge amount of money and all the picks they have this year and next to get him out of his contract
I know about NWM. They clearly have the money and NEED to spend it this year. At a guess they have been spending minimum and it appears this year they must spend that money.l can that point but absolutely ridiculous amount of $ to offer TDK.
They actually have 3-4 talented kids who will command big $ soon, Wanganeen-Milera is a absolute gun in the making, very poor move by the Saints, big fan of TDK but not even close to being worth $1.7m.
So if he signs a 7 year deal with Carlton at $1m a year you think he will struggle to provide for his family in retirement? In a world as expensive as this. You take all of it because it's still not huge numbers and it's only for limited years. It's security against injury, it's security for your children if something happens to you. It's future opportunity and freedom. It's providing the best for your family. It opens up opportunity to be far more philanthropic in retirement... I'm taking the extra every day of the week not for me but for my family. Why wouldn't you.
Why can’t both things be true? They are a minnow club, but have also had a higher peak this century?Yep - I get the tired of the 'St. Kilda are a rabble' mentality on here. It's quite frankly embarrassing and delusional. They have been better than us in modern times.
Maybe he wants a beach front house in Torquay and the difference it being able to get that house and retire on the money he has made in footy or get that house and possibly have to work for the rest of his life.So if he signs a 7 year deal with Carlton at $1m a year you think he will struggle to provide for his family in retirement?
Whatever deal he takes (plus sponsorship deals) he will be set up for life - that makes money less of a deciding factor than happiness and success.
It does not matter how the deal is cut it is a ridiculous amount of $, he could potentially be paid double what Marshall is earning, that is bound to cause disharmony in the group & implications for future list management decisions.I know about NWM. They clearly have the money and NEED to spend it this year. At a guess they have been spending minimum and it appears this year they must spend that money.
Sure they can offer ever player $50k or so extra but that money must be now spent.
Do I think he is worth 1.7 million a year. Of course not. But they will probably pay him 2.5 or so in his first year or 2 as they MUST spend this saved cash. The yearly cost will be most likely just over a million each year for the remainder of the contract if they burn this saved money correctly
The club that ticks both of those boxes is Geelong.I can't win a premiership at my work.
And when I quit my job I won't have supporters of my employer offering massive deals.
Now ask Brett Ratten..Ask Aaron Hammil how he feels - currently he's working as an Assistant Coach at Carlton - after having went for the money to Shit Kilda over 20 year ago - doesn't look like he was too looked after in life after football at Shit Kilda.
