I haven't seen a lot of Aleer but tonight he looks second rate to even poor. What do our recruiters see in him?

He is athletic but he is not reading the ball in the air and the Dogs forwards are making him look very ordinary.

Just as well then that the rest of his team mates played so well tonight then.....

I am not passing judgement on Aleer specifically. But to say big defenders is not a major list need is wildly off base.

Caminiti: Played one season down back, and has been poor in as many games as he has been good
Howard: 30 next year and cant get on the park
Tauru: Looks good. But been around 5 minutes and is just as likely to be a forward
Cordy: Almost certainly delisted
Barratt: Hasn't played a game
Schoenmaker: Looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane. If he makes it, its not as a key back

We are a Wilkie knee injury from being stuck up s**t creek. Big defender is very much a list need. Whether that player is Aleer, that is another question entirely. But we need to find one somewhere
