Sam McClure has been adamant all year thats a done deal.
Pretty sure Sams hit rate is about 3%.

Worpel to the cats is a blind freddy take, hes a second string mid at the hawks, cats have a thin midfield and hes a Falcons boy. If it turns out right itll more be in spite of Sam that because of him.

Which is probably a bad thing
Couldn’t disagree more.

Port would be shouting it from the rooftops if they thought they had the hottest player in the competition coming to them, after their most disappointing season in a decade and a botched coaching succession plan.

Not sure how many times I need to say - the fact the media don’t know anything means Nasiah legitimately hasn’t made a decision or it’s being kept completely in-house at St Kilda for now.

Ben Williams isn’t exactly known for his tight lipped managerial style. If the SA clubs were actively involved, we’d know.

Would not be surprised if Ports opening bid is to offer both Whitlock and Berry and their 2025 2nd. Way unders, but will be potrayed by Cornes and others as a fair offer. lol
If it starts there and wind up being their 26 first it wouldnt be disastrous.

But where did Nas, himself, actually say he’s homesick?

Because I’ve never heard/ seen it anywhere.

Last contract, it was mentioned. But then he still signed.

This just seems to have grown legs and I do remember some journo a while back ( I can’t remember who) writing that the homesickness thing was overstated.
It's a good point. Although if it's not homesickness and is not money (as from all reports we can pay him whatever any other club is offering) then what has taken until now to sign?

Except that they really cant and even if Nas has said he wants to come home and hes the preferred desitnation they still need to work out a trade (and if theyre spruiking it then it cant involve Butters goin).

I agree with the fact Nas hasnt made a decision or at least hasnt confirmed his decision. The lack of media noise means nothing i think, not positive or negative.

The media are now just getting tired, they have a short attention span. They can't keep going on one topic for too long, BigFooty however can keep a single topic going forever.

Name one thing that points to it other than speculation everyone has made up in there heads?
The time it is taking. The manager has had our offer for weeks, he is trying to see if Port has draft capital, which it doesn't.
I still feel he signs with us but for two years only.

What I mean is, Port would leak it to the media, who would shout it for them. The fact nobody knows anything is not an indication he’s gone. I’d argue it’s an indication that no decision has been made, legitimately and crying “he’s gone” every 5 seconds on Big Footy doesn’t make it any less or more true.

Port are trying to convince the afl to let the 2026 no.1 pick draft prospect join their NGA program.

Obviously, the system is broken, and this shouldn’t occur. However, I’m wondering if this in anyway is holding up trade talks as Port work out what assets they have to work with. I doubt it, but the thought crossed my mind.

The afl are supposedly sitting down to go through father son / academy / nga rules in regards to this draft onwards. Inequity in the AFL is definitely the major factor that is stopping me from fully investing in the sport, why would I want to pay for memberships and viewership to engage with a sport that is blatantly unequal and seemingly geared only towards profit.

Instead, every year I am seemingly having a crisis of faith where I wonder if my energy is better spent elsewhere, because often this league just makes me feel like a sucker. And no, it’s not cos I’m a saints fan, this is a league/system wide issue, and of course only those who are benefitting are the ones who don’t care.

NWM literally said himself that the pull home to family wasn't as strong

Dont think ive cried anything so assume youre referring to others.

I agree its not an indication hes gone, im arguing its an indication of nothing and i agree its likely because Nas hasnt decided or if he has he hasnt stated his decision.

Port leaking anything would be stupid. Nas seems very reserved and Williams is still trying to work a bidding war, any leaks that could be traced to Port could blow the whole thing up.

All of this pull home stuff is coming from the media and everyone is assuming that the media has some inside source. The man himself has pretty much said the opposite publicly.

Who fills the FB hole with Howard and Cordy over the hill?

After being way off the finals mark again this year- the club should now be firmly focused on the long term.

The group of kids we have are excellent, but they need 2-3 years more beyond this year before they are reliable guns and we are proper finals contenders.

The current setup of caminiti and howard job sharing full back is fine for the next couple of years, cos we shouldn't be focused on win/loss

I’d say it’s completely plausible that Port might have agreed to be tight-lipped ‘as per arrangement’ as details are thrashed out. So Ports silence does not mean he is not already on railway tracks to Alberton.

St Kilda categorically ruled out of the JSOS race
GETTABLE

No Nas update - bids are all around $2m mark

Bergman "waited and got information" before re-signing with Port !!

St Kilda categorically ruled out of the JSOS race

Cam MacKenzie won't move this season

Other free agents mentioned:
Darcy Gardiner
Charlie Spargo

No. Our midfield is coming along well, we need to keep pumping games into the likes of Boxshall + Garcia and Pou/Wilson/Trav when they're ready

Don't see much point in getting Worpel when Box has already come on so quickly

I agree. It was more of a rhetorical question. The young brigade should be getting the games.

Boxshall, Dow and Carroll are all capable of doing Worpels role.

To be fair to Cornes had said that he cannot see how Port have the capital to get this done. And that he hopes we keep Nas.
