I hope Bruce was told something else because that comment from Misson doesnt inspire much confidence.
The clubs been saying the same thing for a few weeks.

It’s obviously a tactical decision, Which is why I’ve shared it - because it comes across as a positive to me that they aren’t playing this out in the media.

They dropped their TW bomb to counter the rich old man stink the WM family didn’t like. Since then it’s been total silence and straight bats when spotlights been brightest.

My thought exactly - get Brisbane's midfield dominance, make Sharman the second main forward and he kicks 40+

He'll kick over 30 this year alone playing as the main target for a lot of the season. He'll go to another level when King is back
I agree with the sentiment (i reckon id kick 35+ with that midfield) BUT is Morris the second?

I reckon hes the main man and Hipwood is second fiddle.

18 - 20 odd years olds - we would.
Honestly we expect so much from our young players.

Yes. Agree. Skills, skills and more skills.
And goalkicking practice for Mitch!
To be honest, our skill level really is a reflection of our poor midfield. If we can’t get our hands to the ball and transition it effectively from inside to outside (hack blind kick which we do too often doesn’t count), then we’re behind the 8 ball… relying on pressure and out number to get the ball back is tiring and sometimes just in-effective.. it also make our midfield and forward line often congested and difficult to score.

Once we have the midfield fixed, a proper tap ruckman (TDk) with 1-2 elite mids (Hall, Garcia + Macrae + a trade in), the whole team will seriously look a lot better.

All very well.
But when you have been as unsuccessful a club as we have for 150+ years, its quite understandable that we really put a lot of emotion into our ( few and far between) star players. Heaven knows we need something to keep us excited and intyerested.
I 100% hear you, and yes obviously he’s talking about a very different situation but I guess what I took from it is that we may move on faster from the loss (if it happens) than we currently feel right now.
It feels like if he goes than it’s a failed rebuild and we can’t keep our stars etc etc.
But it’s not a stretch to think that some good form from the pou, Garcia, Tauru and the young bunch would quickly remind us that we still have quality and talent on the list that is determined to see us get better. A few inspiring wins, a move up the ladder next year and the hurt of the loss will be easier to stomach. Been a shit season, NAS is our brightest talent it is true but there more to the saints story than one man, no matter how good.
And I reckon the POU would be absolutely gagging to be out there and staking his case as our next messiah.
Matteous the Messiah still has a ring.. No?

So, I wasn’t there. But I’ve had a few people all tell me the same thing.

Bruce Eva was our MC for the clubs pre game function. Mission was the club guest.

Bruce asked who would be wearing #7 next year.

Missions response: we are all hopeful who, but as Ross says in the fullness of time.

Apparently after the event ended Eva was openly telling people who asked that from what he was hearing - the club were starting to get confident.

So, something changed in our favour in the last week

Imagine this place if he signs even for 2 years, but imagine if he signs for 4+

Juicy

Captain Paddy might have another breakdown if he reads this

Another reason to be cheerful. Here's Higgo compared to the rest of the comp for goal contributions (goals + goal assists) this year:

85+: Cameron
80+:
75+:
70+:
65+: Thilthorpe, Naughton, Gunston
60+: Elliott
55+: King, Georgiades, Higgins
50+: Walker, Morris, Darcy, Larkey, Fogarty, West, Zurhaar
45+: Hogan, Pickett, Rankine, Richards, Dangerfield, Treacy, Long, Neale, Heeney, Stengle, Cadman

Currently sitting 8th in the rankings, comfortably clear of every other small forward except Elliott.

Won't quite be AA, though if he has a big last few games he might scrape into the squad.

But we have a good quality 26 year old small forward who's quietly having the best year of his career, and should have at least another 5 years of good production ahead of him. As an example, Elliott is currently having the best year of his career at 32, and in fact this is the only year he's kicked more goals than Jack's got this year.

Jack's going nowhere, going to be great to have him as the young core develops.

I reckon weve probably gotta get past getting our panties in a bunch over an article pumping up Logan Morris and pointing out that of the 18 current clubs were the only ones who didnt speak to him.

Whether you think thats poor list management work or whether you couldnt care (im in the latter basket for the record) its such a ****ing easy story and easy angle for them we probably have to just cop that one on the chin, not piss and moan that the big bad media is coming for us again.

He really should be in the squad. Its Elliott, him and then ****ing daylight for small/medium forwards this year.

He wont make the team cause theyll run with 2 goal kicking mids instead but he should be in the squad.

OK what does Nas has been told to get out of St.Kilda mean
This the Ruscho thing?

**** all, its so vague it may as well be a ****ing motivational poster.

SOMEONE might have advised Nas that his future MIGHT be better outside of St.Kilda.

Stav like vaguery so he can claim a win either way.

Not if people outside the club see you as being at the bottom of a rebuild with years of bottom 4 finishes ahead of us. Battle got us a high pick in a good draft but also set back our best line and made us a lot less competitive. If going backwards leaks quality players as fast as you replace them there really is no point.
I guess it depends if you think it's SOSs fault we lost Battle.
