If young players like Nas, who are not free agents, can just go anywhere they want , what's the limit? You might as well just do away with the draft entirely and just sign up promising young players. Of course that will turn it into a game of have and have-nots which was always the issue.
Mate 0 chance a player of this quality gets past North or Richmond.

I reckon weve probably gotta get past getting our panties in a bunch over an article pumping up Logan Morris and pointing out that of the 18 current clubs were the only ones who didnt speak to him.

Whether you think thats poor list management work or whether you couldnt care (im in the latter basket for the record) its such a ****ing easy story and easy angle for them we probably have to just cop that one on the chin, not piss and moan that the big bad media is coming for us again.
Or we could call it out for what it is , a Brisbane journalist with an agenda.

Do us a favour. Turn a mower on and stick your hands under it so you can’t type any more.
Cheers

He would still find a way

To suggest no other club would take him in the PSD is absolute nonsense. Any club with a pick before port would take NAS. Worst case, he signs doesn’t like it and tries to engineer a trade in 12 months time. Then the club gets 3 first rounders. Alternately he is stuck there on his contract terms. Every club in the comp would take that chance, if they had the cap available (which the bottom clubs do) The PSD is quite simply not going to happen.
Luke Ball went at pick 30. He got to Collingwood because he nominated them and the terms were favourable. Another club is not going to take NAS on the same basis. If Port finish below us on the ladder then they can leverage this point in trade negotiations, assuming he wants to go there which is far from established.

Melbourne wanted Ball and were spooked because he wouldn’t talk with them.

Again, Nas is a very different sports car here. If he hits either draft. He is gone in the top 3 picks.

Imagine if Nas nominated Adelaide... we couldn't work out a deal... he went to the PSD.... and Port took him... getting their man and pissing off their arch enemy.

Easy fix don't let port finish below us

Not much of an update, and could be a bit of just guess work mixed with some things being heard. But Theo Doropoulos on MMM has reported on JB & Billy show that it’s still up in the air with 3 clubs involved.

He said (paraphrased):
-Adelaide in it but would be third in the race
-Port would be slightly ahead of Adelaide
-St.Kilda would still be confident they’re at the front of the pack
-Nas himself doesn’t know what he’s doing
-Signature held off as stocks continue to rise each week

As I said, could be just made up from the vibe or this could be directly from sources.

I think something that hasn't really been taken into consideration up until this point is the AFL having final say on trades.

With the rattling of cage that Bassat and Lyon have done so far I strongly believe in the current landscape and public sentiment there is no way they allow anything to go through with the optics that we have been thoroughly screwed over by the vagaries of their own system.

They're if not anything else, self interested.

How about we try and win some games instead of wanting to be the leading first nations team or whatever you want to call it , that means bugger all and as much as it gets you all wet I'm not sure Nas is all that concerned about it
I have no idea why we would want that or how you’d achieve it other than by pure chance. If you’re recruiting and drafting the best available which is surely the case then how does it happen.

Reckon that's a bit harsh.

100% of people should have seen through it.

I thought he was just having a laugh.

I know I'm on my own a bit because there's a "people should be able to post what they know" sentiment here, but people have just been making shit up. It's wild.
If people genuinely believed it then I've got some premium oxygen to sell them as well
