I think rich benefactors don’t just donate their money without cause and reason.

If you are selling something for them to donate. You best be giving them the reason for it.
Isn't that entirely phants point?

Tell the rich benefactors that they're confident Nas will resign even though every single report says no one has any clue what is happening

Luke Ball went at pick 30. He got to Collingwood because he nominated them and the terms were favourable. Another club is not going to take NAS on the same basis. If Port finish below us on the ladder then they can leverage this point in trade negotiations, assuming he wants to go there which is far from established.
No disrespect to Luke, but he is no Nas. Also, he went in the national draft, not the PSD and Port don’t even have a first rounder in the ND! How would he get there as a second round pick in that instance? Every other club could get him knowing they could get 12 months service out of him, and get 3 first rounders at the end of it as the worst case scenario. If he can’t get to Port, a much more likely outcome is he signs for 1 year at the Saints (or two with an agreement to go next year), the Adelaide clubs get their ducks in a row and trade for him next year.
What won’t happen is a 22yo in peak form will run the risk of going to west coast, to then have to move again in 12 months to get back home. I’d put my house on it.

But then he doesn't sign and the benefactors are like, "wtf, you told us he was signing?". Which scenario do you think they would be more pissed at? Managing expectations knowing he may go or being confident and raising expectations?

So when there’s been zero leaks and the media knows absolutely nothing… key figures at the club are going to leak information to a fan podcast and general supporters at a function?
Okaay Ok GIF by MOODMAN

They are DEEPLY altruistic. Gain nothing from it.

By the way have you signed up for 2026 yet? Completely unrelated.

So just to confirm:

Our president did a sit down interview with Saints Tv

Our CEO did a sit down interview with the Saints Nation Podcast cast and he insinuated Williams was difficult to work with.

And the unpluggered podcast also broke the news on a new Max Hall deal

Only yes or no answer will suffice. 😊

To suggest no other club would take him in the PSD is absolute nonsense. Any club with a pick before port would take NAS. Worst case, he signs doesn’t like it and tries to engineer a trade in 12 months time. Then the club gets 3 first rounders. Alternately he is stuck there on his contract terms. Every club in the comp would take that chance, if they had the cap available (which the bottom clubs do) The PSD is quite simply not going to happen.
Imagine the Eagles don't pick him up.

"AFL please can we have a priority pick"

"No, but you can have Nasiah in the PSD"

"Ew, no thanks.. Star players in the PSD are disgusting"

Please forgive me, I struggle to comprehend the basement dwelling attention seeker, dribbling themselves while decrying attention seeking and advising others to get some sun.

I'll speak in a parlance that you seem familiar with ... just a suggestion, though might do you some good.

Go outside and touch grass.
You must be 85+

If nas nominates for the pre season draft he has to go to the team that picks him up. Worst case for west coast is they get him and he doesn’t play for 12 months then they trade him back to sa for two first round picks. Good business by them

"You said you were confident"

"Yeah we were but then he changed his mind"

"yeah far enough, understandable"

"So... how do you guys like this big bag of oxygen to go with your 2026 membership? It only adds on another $500 but it's oxygen from inside the gym when the boys were doing weights"

Bro the club doesn't give a flying about the podcasts

It's just an easy way to win positive PR with the fan base.

You can't possibly think high end club officials are going to leak proper information to fan run podcasts :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

I think you’ll be surprised at how willing they are to talk.

I thought Dilena gave abit and you still haven’t answered how the unpluggered guys knew about Hall 🙃

BRO!

Dilena said way more than I would have expected of someone in his position, which I think is a really good thing.

Saints TV had a great interview with Bassatt. I love that these guys can get them on podcasts.

I also don’t buy that the club doesn’t care about those podcasts. They’re very good for business

Parkin works for SEN, he's a really good St Kilda media person and the podcast is excellent. If he's saying they're confident then it definitely means something, he also said he would be nervous until it's signed. But clearly it's not done and dusted as many Port fans want to believe.

Yes, good for PR with the fan base.

The club use them as a vehicle for fan engagement... like how the new EJ Whitten game is using Dan Gorringe to try and bring in the younger crowd to care.

It's eyeballs, optics and PR... Just because they go on the podcast doesn't mean they are going to start leaking private information to them, that's just not how it works :tearsofjoy:
