Maybe there's a chance Nas stays if Lyon's narrative of wanting to go up a level and sign a bigger contract has any truth to it. Windy sounds gone though. Possibly traded for Aleer (which I hate). I still think Nas is 85% likely to be gone as well.

The most definitive language came when he was talking about not trading contracted players. That's the strongest indicator that Steele and Marshall will be around next year, despite potentially asking for a trade (ala Kelly)
Must admit, if we take a major step backwards by losing young guns and having to replace them through another draft, then I’d rather they go more aggressive on that front and trade at least one senior guy. No point holding those towards the end with a major blank space where the kids were. Sick of trying to scrape our way to average

Rightly or wrongly, the reality is now, that if you want a certain player to come to your club,
you have to pay them overs.

I'm not happy about the so said amounts being paid to Aleer & Dekoning.
But, you've got 2 players btn 24 y.o - 26y.o, that our club thinks will fulfill a need in our future success.
So you have to take risks at times.

Also, if its true that we have Marshall, Steele, Wilkie & Windhager all disgruntled with the payments of these two incoming players & also don't follow our future vision, then set them free.

Unfortunately we won't get adequate compensation for them, but at least we get their biggish enough payments off our books.
All of Marshall, Steele & Wilkie have about 3 seasons left of footy, so they are not going to be a part of our vision for success.

And where? does Wilkie think he's going to get more than 750k.
And next year he was probably going to be made captain, so his salary would of gone up considerably.

And Windhager was given the privilege of un-retiring Danny Frawley's No.2 jumper,
Now at the age of 22 y.o, he's bitching about being under-valued & under-paid- piss off.

Nowhere did I say the dispute itself was SOS fault. Maybe he was treated like crap, I don't know.

It was his decision to not turn up though. What about catching up with the 20 blokes you shared a life changing moment with?

Obviously SOS's feelings a little bit more important than that.

Surely his ego can get over whatever the criticism was by now? Carlton football club is bigger than the ex CEO and a few board members who sacked him 5 years ago.

Life goes on, it's a cut throat industry. Suck it up.
This is the weirdest hill to die on.

Who gives a f***, really?

If SOS gets the job done at St Kilda, he will be lauded and he can ignore whoever he likes.

If SOS doesn't get the job done at St Kilda, he can leave with a negative legacy and still ignore whoever he likes.

End of.

All these great players and we're bottom 4.
Piss the mediocre Windy off if there's any truth to it. He's a borderline senior player.

I've been a huge advocate for him since being drafted.
850 grand though is taking the piss.
He's 22, and turning into a solid role player...at the moment I would call him a C grade talent, reaching for B, that can occasionally hit a B+ a couple of times a year. You can't hang your hat on that... he's simply not consistent enough.
He is around the 600 grand mark at a push...maybe 7 if he was to sign for 4 years where he would be 26-27, and THEN be in for his pay day.
None of these guys are going to sign those 4 year contracts because of Tasmania coming on board, which is fair enough... that's business. However asking for another quarter of a million for your C grade talent level is taking the piss.
These guys are clearly not interested in being a "part of something special" it's bullshit. Rather it appears to be "I think I am special...pay me and I'll say whatever you want about "the vision."
All this without having proved anything yet.
F*CK them.

I love that Ross started out but saying Rucci’s report sounded like two blokes having a chat at a bbq and finished with him cooking Rucci on the very same grill by sharing his side gig as a puff piece write for the port Adelaide sanfl side.
That was just beautiful.

It was a contract drive-by where Lyon threw Rucci a cold can before discharging the machine gun.

Lyon made Rooch and Kymbo sound like Statler and Waldorf, heckling from the stalls on the Muppets, without any rigour or substance.

As a fun excersise, for next year what will our leadership look like. Already looks devoid of leaders before taking our ro and steele.

Wilkie obv.

Listen to Boxshall’s rising star presser.
He’s one. Not next year - but soon.

Geez that makes me happy we have RTB. Many other supporters would kill for a leader like him at their club.
idk, personally I think richo would have excelled on that panel with the questions coming thick and fast, "ah yeah nah bit of unrest but we're really just focussing on being strong in the contest at the moment"

The problem with Windhager is his management think he’s worth $800,000+ per season, the club think he’s not worth that. The club is right.
On what he’s produced so far he certainly isn’t, so if he thinks he’s worth more than we do, he can sign for two and then demand more in two years time. Once he’s playing footy worthy of that sort of contract.

Or, if another club are willing to offer him that much now, he can leave now.

Usually they sign for less than they can get elsewhere though, so if he reckons he’s worth $800K PA or more to us, you’d think another club would have to come to the table with a mil PA offer. Or at minimum a longer one.

Hard to see a club willing to offer him a mil PA, but they could easily offer him a 4 or 5 year deal.

Can see why this is touch-and-go.

Sinclair captain for the next 3 years, what an honour for the once rookie listed player.
Butler, Clark, Higgo, & Wood in the leadership group

Phillipou would be the obvious choice after that, kid oozes loyalty & team orientation.

Do you think Watson is reporting on old info or fresh info? Do you have a gut feel on whether he would come to us?
Sorry kust seen your post and a bit late to reply

Not sure when Watson got his information but the $25 mil news would be new
When i was told of StKilda's interest in May no dollars were mentioned but the TDK information i was told the amount and my jaw dropped as at the time even $1 mil was a massive amount and seemed double what would have been expected as he hadnt had the start to the season as he did the 1st half of the season.

Do i think he comes to StKilda ?
I can only answer that as a bigfooty poster and not with any info i would say if he is desperate to come back to melbourne and no other club comes close then Yes but if he gets the deal his manager has asked for 2 years with an option of 9
or even a 4 years with a 8 year player option i think he stays at the eagles
