What they’re worth and what you’ll have to pay to get them out of respective clubs isnt same thing

I thought Lyon's comment towards the end were good, "in the fullness of time, hopefully we got really positive announcements". Sounding like something will be happening shortly. Gives credence also to Eddie's comments, Gary Lyon saying this week and also our friend's number35 comments about it maybe happening this week.

Have you watched their last 2 games ?.

I have and to say he was terrible is being generous, I can’t figure out why we have identified Aleer as a player we want. He is not a key position player, he’s too small and lacks the football smarts, he’s also not an intercept mark so it’s a mystery.

Maybe they’re fattening him up for sale, if not surely he’s dropped this week.

He hasn't had the best games the last two weeks - but there is plenty to work with for me.

Saying he is not an intercept mark is not accurate.

He avg. 1.8 intercept marks a game this season, while Wilkie avg. 2.4.

He averages the same amount of intercept marks as Mac Andrew and Sam De Koning, while he averages more than Jack Buckley, Hammer, Luke Ryan, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Tauru, Josh Battle among others.

Considering he has only played 22 games and Wilkie has played 153, I back the club to develop Aleer into a good player.

Also, if you had watched him play that closely, you would understand that his height (which honestly isn't that small at 194cm anyway) doesn't really matter as much with his leap.

If we are not selling the farm to get him in both draft picks and salary, then play on is the call.

Windhager is a good ordinary player, there’s a heap of his type across the competition. What are his elite qualities?

He’s 22 probably already one of the best taggers in footy, high production, good hands, footy IQ. He’s probably only behind Nas in improvement this year. Already shot up among teammates and has more scope. His adaptability is also what makes him valuable.

Hope so but as a long term supporter I know not to expect anything. If we sign up a player instead of stuffing something up it’s like a flag for us.

I don’t have the time to respond in greater depth now, but one thing you seem to be completely ignoring is that

A: By the end of this round we’ll presumably be at least 3 wins and a big chunk of percentage ahead of the likes of Richmond, North and Essendon, and that’s despite the fact that they’ve played a bunch of games against each other, so they have to win some games as well.

B: You seem to be completely ignoring the fact that we’re now ahead of Port, Melbourne and Carlton, and while we might have Nas, Sincs and Wilkie, they have had for most of the year:

Dees- Gawn, Pickett, Petracca, May, etc
Carlton- Cripps, Curnow, Wietering, McKay, De Koening, Walsh
Port- Butters, Rozee, JHF, Georgiades, Aliir.

While the team directly above us on the ladder have played in two of the last 3 grand finals, have beaten 4 of the top 8 teams- including a fantastic win over Brisbane at the Gabba on the weekend, plus a 4 point loss to them earlier on the year- and when we got within a goal of them for instance, they didn’t have a single player under 21yo, while we had 5 or so, including about 3 teenagers.

While the team directly above them have 3 of the top 10 ranked players in the league, in Bontempelli, Darcy and Richards, plus another who’d now be top 20, in Naughton, plus Dale, Libba, and two other 208cm blokes, in English and Lobb.

Anyone who thinks that a rebuilding team, who is playing kids on training wheels in key roles (eg Caminiti at FB, Tauru at CHB-ish, Garcia in the guts and Boxshall on a wing) should be ahead of teams like that- especially given the brutal draw we’ve had- is seriously out of their mind.

And if you think I’m wrong, take your theory that we should be ahead of teams like that to the main board.

By all means, I’m not necessarily saying RTB has given Eddie info to indicate it’s a done deal, he’s just clearly told him behind closed doors that for whatever reason he’s got a contained level of confidence.

Until it’s announced Nas has resigned, it all means nothing really at the end of the day.

This is becoming a massive distraction which is eating the Club alive. If NAS was so invested in the Club he and his manager would put a stop to this and work with the Club to get the in-principle deal he wants asap even if the the final few things need to be nailed down and then work with the Club on an announcement. Maybe his manager is doing this - let’s hope so.

If he and his manager can’t do this asap - then clearly he is gonski.

I think it’s a sign he no doubt wants to leave but chances are it prob won’t be able to get done for another two more years . One year possibly if butters leaves next year . At least then we ll get a decent return
