This isn’t normal footy club behaviour. There is overs for a champions and then there is recklessness. Crazy that so many see not problem overpaying a player double his actual value for 7 years but flinch at retaining a player at what ends up around $100k a year more than his value for a short period.

The club could have possibly managed it right and still pissed people as well.

It's a reality of the situation created by the AFL and giving more power to players.

If you're sought after as a free agent, it adds dollars to your value.

I know Windy isn't a free agent, but it's a similar situation.

If the haggling over Windy is for a few dollars, well that is f***ing stupid.

But if the amount is significant, then it's important we fight for two reasons.

1. We don't want to be seen as a club that easy money is extracted from
2. We don't want to compromise our future build.

Whether the amount is significant or not, I have no idea.

I do want him to stay though.

We haven’t had to worry about having players poached for years, we only ever had a few decent ones and we could pay more than anyone else to keep them.

There is every chance that TDK contract is greatly over exaggerated in the media. Maybe it’s 1.7 mil first year but drops down to around a mil not long after that.

I just listened to it,‪they said on the show that they had no news and that Gerard’s prior confidence was based on how Ross handled himself the other night.

That his phone had blown up with some info an hour before the show and he has gone from 98 to 65% but reiterated no concrete news.

apparently Nuffy is now a derogatory term, because some idiot looked up the meaning somewhere and it included descriptions of mental disability, even though that was never what nuffy meant. I assume i am also bad for using the word idiot. Soon it may be bad to describe people as "below average ".

Can you post the offer letter he got that obviously you have as you know what he is being offered?

All the press is stating 1.7m a year for 7 years and yes you cannot believe everything in the press but they generally have better sources than some anonymous loon on Bigfooty.

Actually most of the media hear a number & recite it mindlessly without seeking any confirmation.

The bigger the number the better.

There’s no clicks in clarifying what a deal actually is & less in being accurate.
