Im not sure about the rules here so won't copy paste but the summary is:

Saints initial offer a year ago was close to #1 million

Our FINAL OFFER came after the Melbourne game

Adelaide and Port Adelaide had made it clear they were willing to match any money from St Kilda and write a deal for as long as he liked to play for either the Power or the Crows

Phone calls to the rival clubs’ list managers were never made

Instead, St Kilda made Wanganeen-Milera the highest -priced player in the game’s history to keep him at the club in an attempt to break the longest premiership drought in the AFL

And at lunch time on Monday, the good news was made official at the club

Wanganeen-Milera met with Ross, Enright, and Brad Hill

In Lyon’s office Wanganeen-Milera said he loved the club and wanted to continue the journey under Ross and co

At the same time, Williams sent a message to the Saints’ list boss Stephen Silvagni and recruiter Graeme Allen confirming the Saints most recent $2 million-a-year offer had been accepted

Then the calls were made from Williams to Port Adelaide and Adelaide to say Wanganeen-Milera had politely turned down their interest

Shortly after, the Saints’ playing group erupted at the news

It had cost the Saints much more than they bargained for but the club is prepared to make cuts elsewhere to keep Wanganeen-Milera and save space for Carlton big man Tom De Koning

Now that he’s signed, what’s the minimum offer from the SA clubs would you have taken?

For me it was Berry Bergman and a first.

Wouldn’t be ideal but I could live with it.

two top 5 picks and a GOP player/young player with potential that wasn't a high draft pick

The rule;

I wonder if Steele and Marshall are now more likely to be traded. I hope we keep Windy--feel like it could bite us on the ass down the track if he leaves.

Keep fans on edge until final round of the H&A season. Create fear, anxiety, depression and hopelessness at the thought of Nas leaving. Announce resigning. Offer $7 memberships. Use the $1million that raises to pay half Nas’s salary next year. Well played St Kilda FC.
Shrewd manager - NAS should be upping the commission to Ben Williams

To my knowledge - Pick 4,6, Norf F1 was apparently a conversation had between the Saints & Crows in a very loose manner

You can try figuring out how that would be possible...

The rights to 2/3 of Adelaide including a port and for Kochie to walk up to Tredrae and kick him in the nads.

The 2/3 rights mean I can tell Riccuito to GTFO off of tv and the second would just be funny.

As I said a little while ago, I was hoping Nas stayed at the Saints. Obviously would’ve loved him at the Crom but your club has found a star and didn’t deserve to lose him after just four years.

He’s a star. Enjoy it saints fans (the reasonable ones at least ;) ).
Cheers bigman!

Maybe NAS signed for two years only so he can take less in two years to get other guns in? Take a bit less to keep the internal growth compensated and bring in outside players to meet requirements.

I think we need Marshall. Won't get a great return. Need a quality forward/ruck option.

Steele we can afford to lose. Its hard to carry Steele and Macrae in the same side.

NAS Brownlow to top this all of would be beautiful

So a few of the other names that were up in the air:

  • TDK: very unlikely we drop the offer at this point (and if it's happening we'll know in the next week or so)
  • Windy: will surely re-sign now that Nas has
  • Aleer: locked in I'm sure
  • Marshall: no idea but my guess is that he goes because the pick would be handy for us
  • Steele: no idea but wouldn't be surprised if he went to pump up his super somewhere else

If that all happens then here's a best 18 for R1 next year, injuries permitting.

B: Stocker, Aleer, Wilkie
HB: Wanganeen-Milera, Tauru, Sinclair
C: Windhager, Phillipou, Wood
HF: Owens, Hall, Boxshall
F: Higgins, King, Sharman
R: De Koning, Macrae, Garcia

Others: Caminiti, Clark, Wilson, Hill, Butler, Byrnes, Henry, Heath, Dodson, Dow, Hastie, Schoenmaker, O'Connell, Keeler, Carroll, Travaglia, Collard, Barrat, Said, Armstrong

Gone: Jones, Steele, Marshall, Howard, Cordy, Webster, Boyd, McLennan
Steel and Marshall will be retained. Trading out either of these popular clubmen will undo all the good will that’s been created among the playing group with NWM signing on.
