I think we’ll ask for a player. Last thing we need is midrange draft picks.
You ain’t getting anyone unless it’s Collard or Steele and you would still be giving us more than Ryan.

Any young gun is off the table. This likely gets done for a second or third rounder.

i dont think theres a deal to be done here, just seems like random rumour. his agent has straight up called it no true

If Ryan plays 3 more seasons we could probably hope to get 40-50 games out of him as he ages off into the sunset. If anyone tries to tell me that those last few games from an injury prone player are worth anything more than a throw away pick - pls. A player!? Who an extremely promising 19yo Boxshall with 200+ games in front of him? Noooope 1st round pick Collard? Also 20yo.

If you want a player, it would be a Ryan Byrnes type player who would be a great pick up age wise for WC, best 22 for the forseeable future and would likely really benefit from wide spaces of optus (see Blacres, who was similarly limted). The gap in ability accounts for gap in games to be played.

Otherwise F3

Don't know about anyone else, but the Liam Ryan rumour doesn't tickle the pickle at all. Just can't see the Eagles letting go of a contracted player for unders, or why we would pay plenty for a 29yo who doesn't move the needle that much.

Maybe that's why I don't work in list management. I can see the potential benefits. But like any trade, my thoughts and opinions would be based around the price.

However, I am pleased that the club will look to be proactive in the player movement space over the next two seasons at least. Our foundations are fairly strong, so a few shrewd additions in key areas would hopefully improve us immediately.

Personally, even just having additional height across all lines would make a significant difference to the side and would remove the stranglehold that teams have had on us this season through intercepts around the ground.

The only way I see the Ryan deal making any sense is if Collard has requested a return to WA. We would want a late first or early 2nd for him and the Eagles would be unwilling to pay that as they need all the young talent they can bring in as that is now where their list sits. Collard for Ryan and a third might make sense for both parties.

Hindsight is everything but it makes sense why Hill has been more up and down with his form this year if he's been dealing with all this extra stuff off field.

But what a great person he is.
❤️ Hilly, his impact on the club goes far beyond on field… seriously what a legend… so important in bringing the next generation through.

Best 22 with the rumoured players and 5 man bench looks great:

FB Stocker Wilkie Tauru

HBF Sinclair Aleer Clark

C Windhager Steele Wilson

HFF Ryan Sharman Hall

FF Higgins King Marshall

Foll TDK, Nas, Phillipou

Int Macrae, Hill, Wood, Garcia, Owens

I personally would prefer Howard in Aleer's place, but will back the club

There is no way Lance is worth a late first or early Second pick, he’s been a fringe player for us at best
