We’re starting to get that whiff about us again.

What at first glance looked like a club moving in the right direction with a good president and some accountability is starting to look like the same old st Kilda. I feel like the president has been too deferential on football maters, if Nas walks I think it’s about time for a review.

Massive trade and draft period coming up for us.
Agree 💯

A lot will agree 18 months down the track after done

The romanticism means Wanganeen-Milera has a more tangible connection to his club than most players considering heading back to their home states.

“He felt comfortable getting to St Kilda knowing he’d been around there when they were in Melbourne as a young kid,” Wanganeen says.

“He remembered those times being in the change rooms and having a kick, and that was important.”

I said this on a stream the other night. You win a flag at St Kilda, you’re a legend. You’ve just won the greatest flag in AFL history. It’s easy to just go home, but he’ll just be another Port play there. Here he’s a god, we love him. He gives us hope. And despite the shyness, deep down you can see he LOVES being the man. He’d be the man, the messiah, at St Kilda.

His signature was Trump level big when he signed my newspaper at training. I think he loves being the man.

Such a good article.

If you want to read too much into things (like me) I reckon it's a positive that Uncle Gavin is speaking highly of the Saints in that article and says he only left for Port once he'd achieved everything he could at Essendon.
Gotta be a good thing that we didn't delist Terry, instead released him from his contract to go back home.. Both SA clubs left him stranded

Uncle Gavin will probably like having his son playing AFL again. Smart, outside the box thinking by the club. I think Tex in his own right could be good and may just need his cousin driving the standards for him.

Is it standards or ability that is the question

Wouldn’t that be something is we accidentally jagged another Naz

All I can say is if Nas stays, we get Whitlock and Butters leaves, Port will have a Chernobyl level meltdown.
What ever way the NAS thing goes I really believe Port is in for a few ordinary years the list looks tired and used by date is up

Think/hope NAS will sign for 4

And he kicked 3 goals Way back in round 5
Ok, but you’ve got to admit - he has not been a reliable goal kicker until very recently.

I remember posting here ages ago, can’t be bothered looking for it, that NAS has pretty much everything, but when he became a reliable goal kicker he’d be the absolute complete package. Would truly move him into the stratosphere of the competition. And it’s finally happened - but only recently.

I thought all this talk about Tex was for our VFL team, not the main list. Then I read somewhere he may be offered a training spot over summer to try to prove his case for a list spot so who knows.

I thought it was just our VFL side too

So post that comment from Caro, we have given Nas on average 14 CBA's per game. Surely we wouldn't bother with his development as a mid if the club thought he was on the way out.

Maybe I'm just coping now too
Consider where the Blues have been playing TDK when it became pretty obvious he was leaving.

No guarantees. If he’s good enough, why not?
And if he’s not, vfl.

Everyone jumps to negative views on the situation, maybe the delay now is he was going to do 2 but now thinks maybe go for longer.

I've considered this as well. Terry has mentioned that he had some angst against us at once stage but that's long gone. I honestly think they didnt even give him a rookie chance, why would there be any loyalty to those SA clubs.

It sounded like Terry was main reason he extended last time when Nas was severely homesick.

Maybe we are just stupid. Easily duped by captain cuck Jack Bottle about staying.
NAZ may have learned how to play these suckers
The copium being consumed on here is pretty impressive.
Simple fact is we splashed the cash for outside players who hardly move the needle without securing the best player we have had for 20 years.
Don't care that people say they aren't linked, don't be naive, of course it will be.

If money is not the issue why did Port front end their first two years for 2 mill a year.
Really hope he stays, but there is going to be some monumental fallout if we lose this guy.

This might be against the grain.

But what if old mate BW has been engaging the club in good faith, Nas indicated he wanted the 2 year extension, but as times dragged on Nas has been reluctant to sign on due to the pull home, and BW has been actively trying to push up the $ as a means to get Nas across the line and avoid doing a deal with either SA club as he knows it’s very unlikely to work for his client?

I think the more the $ rises, it also gives Nas more scope to beef up his family support network in Melbourne, which the manager would be aware of.

As it stands its either: (a) Nas has made up his mind and expects a deal to be done to go home at season’s end: (b) genuinely hasn’t decided and is torn; or (c) intends to sign in coming weeks or season’s end when he’s happy with terms.

Out of all scenarios, I just couldn’t fathom BW (aka NAS) engaging the club in bad faith throughout the season.
