But the fact is you don't have a clue what the list management team is doing any more than i do.

The difference is I'm not on here debating every one like i do.

Who hates him, he's just on watch because he's not been able to lock away players in a timely manner and at round 24 we are still waiting for him to get shit done.

Going to be worse next year when he has bulk players out of contract again. You're a nugget alright.

The only one we care about OOC now is windy and it’s already been explained why. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it wrong or poor management.

He got nas done - even if I think it’s too much money. We still retained him.
He got hall done. He announced 5 the other day.

We have decent to good players. It will take some time as clubs come offering money.

You constantly go off at him and haven’t been correct - not once.

Fact is that he has culled the list. Brought in a stack of high end kids and we have retained Nas whilst adding offseason pieces.

If you think that framework is irrelevant to these discussions, you're badly mistaken.

He has surprised me at every turn this year, can only be a good thing.

Happily suprised in preseason myself, but his improvement since focussing on footy full time in a professional environment has been huge. Hopefully he can continue that rapid rise.

More surprising though is that I am having to argue the point that a kid doesn't have to wait until he is 23 to play if he is good enough.

The maximum possible excess from the last 4 years is less than this

But even if true, we're paying Nas $4mil over the next 2 years.

Which is more than your "saved SC" figure (that gets spread over 4 years anyway).

So where do we find the $12mil for TDK over 8 years?

From the existing cap.

That's not what he means. He means there is that much free in the salary cap in total - I actually think it's more than that...maybe 4.5m but that's just a guess

• The extra 5%,
• senior players on less than the average remuneration of their respective deals as they approach the back-end of their deals,
• Howard probably on a few '00k less,
• Jones likely being delisted,
• none of our players' deals being scaled with the SC

are all factors that should be considered and theres probably more

i havent watched Ryan a lot,but butler is not a good example,trying millionaire moves all the time,refuses to just play the ball,drops marks on purpose because lining up from 20-30 is not his brand,picking it up and running around to create the spectacular is what he tries all the time,he costs us goals

im not overjoyed with the ryan pursuit,but butler is no example to use to oppose it,if the club think ryan is right then im happy to back them,they want naz after 2 years as much as i do & this shot at a flag is probably my last above ground,im 57,i cant afford to be negative,so if ryan arrives im backing him in,i already know butler is not it

On here, whenever a player drops off in form, it's amazing how many fans start bagging them & ending their careers.
Butler's been a good servant & after a significant injury, he can hopefully get back to near his best.
Not saying best, because he is getting on in age, footy wise.

He did that in his first few years at Carlton with GWS players .... and he ended up putting together a list that missed a GF by a few kicks

Wouldnt be one list manager in the system who hasnt made some mistakes

Pretty sure Ross Lyon said that about 3 weeks ago. Maybe not the Pre-season thing, but it took until about a month ago for the knee to not be an issue

It's not meant to be easy. The current footy department has done a lot right with list repair but also gone backwards on field. We now need to start returning on investment. So far his biggest mistake has been throwing crazy offers around which has had the opposite effect and made current players hungrier for their piece of pie.

We need to get our players signed and move on to trades. Not having the contracting wrapped up looks messy and is a distraction.

We have a few years left with our senior crew and 2 years to show Nas a path forward. He's got a lot of work to do to get it right. At the moment I don't feel like he's got it under control. Very happy that we got Nas done and Hall is good to0 have locked away.

Other than getting TDK, Leek Aleer, Flyin Ryan (potentially), our FRDP, Fincher and maybe another surprise (Flanders etc), the following will be like new recruits: Pou, King and Henry.

No inside word but appears to be fitness and confidence.

Needs a big preseason to get both up to par.
