We see Travaglia differently.

I thought he was the safest pick in the top 10. You just know pending injuries that he gets 200 AFL games.

What I can’t work out is his ceiling just yet.

Yes not a great kick. But great 1 on 1. Appears to have elite hands. Elite aerobic capacity. Versatile
Agree it’s hard to gauge at this stage. I like his body language too and he’s good above his head also. Really needs some muscles added but acknowledging he’s the wirey type. Could be Farren Ray like.

Don’t forget Saints have been paying a chunk of Jack Billings contract at the Dees for the last 2 years

If he kept Cadman in check maybe he’s in the right spot, but having choices is a good thing.
In a minority but not sold on Caminiti down back. I think the experience though will help him enormously for his forward play.

Who knows if Aleer even gets a game but there’s no doubt we need some key defender support. I think Caminiti ends up forward long term but at least if he needs to go there short term we’ve got some other options instead of being so Howard reliant.

One thing we don’t have is a long term 200cm defender which I think we’re going to need coming up against Sam Darcy, Thilthorpe, Ben King etc. That needs to be on the shopping list.

I've still got a chip on my shoulder for all of the crap I copped for wanting to finish lower on the ladder last year to get a gun mid. Same thing happened today to a much much lesser level. Didn't care win or lose, but I love that we pushed Carlton down and will do a Kako with Dean.

The Trav talk will last for a bit I think. He will either be a Brett Peake or a Will Day, hopefully the latter. During match sim training on Friday he took off, took two bounces, ran around two players like the were witches hats and proceeded to scrub the kick barely into our forward 50. Ross just laughed and shook his head.

The kid is confident and has real self belief. I think he makes it and will clean up his game when he builds his body and understands game plans better. As for redrafting, its done now, can't focus on others we don't have. I'd rather focus on Boxshall, he'd almost be ahead of Trav after a year one redraft. What a selection!!

For a team who missed the 8, we have a lot to look forward to going forward!

Good post, can't help myself, wanted to win today but all you posted about being ahead of Carlton is in Bruce terms, delicious.
Would like to address the first part of your post, the counter argument to yours was it builds a winning culture, this year it has done the same thing win today and it is 5 in a row, wasn't to be so 4 and a very close loss......

....but

There is no point in playing well when the season is shot. We have done it twice now in two years. They say they want a winning culture, fair enough, however they need to get their mindset right and have enough games to win and win them UNDER PRESSURE, to make finals, not look pretty at the end of the season.
I give them a pass on the finishes last two seasons. Do it again in 26 and hard questions need asking.
We need to be aiming at least top 8. If not the whole strategy is in question in my view.

Aleer didn’t play directly on Sharman all day.

He was out marked on Sharman and then a little Later on he was out marking Keeler

More a positional thing in my view.

Sharman was meeting the ball and thus a more evened contest where Leek had to work for it.
Keeler was still getting moved a bit under the ball, so more defender oriented.

Comes with experience IMO and was a correct move for GWS to make to make that shift.

He's got raw talent but looks a few years off
Most first year players are.
And tbh he’s not even a first year player, the amount of footy he’s had off no pre-season.

He's now our best inside mid.

We can't afford for him to leave.
If he chooses either Norf or Dees over us then you have to question his judgement tbh.
