Taking a huge hit to the cap for it. Still very uncomfortable with the TDK length and cost.

I think we do need to go hard over the next three years so probably need to trade in but I think it's looking extremely high risk.

I'd feel a lot better if we had Windhager signed on.

You'd say that it's either JSOS or Aleer, not both. JSOS older, more exposed form, and free. Aleer younger, higher ceiling, and would probably cost a future second at least.

Maybe the late interest in JSOS coincides with our interest in Ryan, as the pick we'd use for Aleer we could use in Ryan instead?

TDK, JSOS, and Ryan for the low low price of salary cap and a future second isn't bad business.

But is it really a hit to the salary cap? None of us in here have access to the books. I'm not saying you are wrong, but we have been banking cap and we publicly said we could land two Callaghan sized deals and still keep Nas.

If it comes to a choice between Jack Silvagni and Leek Aleer, I think JSOS should get the nod. He is a free agent and a much better performed player than Aleer.

It means we could use the draft pick touted for Aleer somewhere else.

I rate Jack as a player, smart player, gives 100%, very underrated.

It’s the usual stuff he’s not his old man so the Carlton faithful were very critical, ironically sentiment seems to have turned over the past year and now he might leave.

Agree 100% with this. Shattered if we lost windy, but absolutely fine letting Rowan go. He’s been a great servant, but if he wanted to go to the Cats, good luck to him. I’m also huge on TDK though - genuinely think he will be a superstar of the competition next year.

I'd take JSOS if we really are chasing finals in the next few seasons. Aleer looks a long way off.

Bad move if we let Windy go, on a couple of counts…

We need to keep an original core together, and it’s only just started to happen in the last few seasons and it breeds loyalty and a strong group ethic

We need to keep a kid who has shown so much versatility and can get his own ball while stopping stars getting theirs

We need to keep a kid who is showing so much leadership when we have a dearth of it coming up. Not sure I see that as NAS just yet - seems very quiet.

And we need to not piss NAS off by shipping off one of his mates who is in the prime age group we need. Remember, we’ve only got a 2 year breathing space.

Most of all, I think we’re going to regret it as one who got away.

Marshall and Steele I’m not so fussed about.
