Hopefully the club has done a serious medical. Don't think it could be as bad as there are saying still, it might be bothering him but it would be medically negligent to send him out to play with restricted breathing. And you'd think his trachea being damaged could be potentially dangerous too.

He's the player Saints fans have been dreaming of for the past decade.

But TDK hasn't done anything. Let's just be honest about that. He's a 26 year old who had a few good games last year, and a few good games early this year.

We're all hoping he'll become a consistent top ruck. But it hasn't happened yet.

Let's just be humble enough to admit we're hoping, but right now on paper he's massively overpaid the moment he signs on the bottom line. Until he proves otherwise.

100%, TDK could be the best ruck in the game but is already paid on the unrealised potential. It invites pressure on him and the club.

Nas is 22 and already obscene. Only Nick Daicos is on his level at the same age and I think Nas has a bit more match winning ability and razzle dazzle. He's exactly the type that you pay a ridiculous contract for. He's the elite of the elite type.

Our history being we specifically got asked to flip from the VAFA and have had several iterations of maybe, probably, kind of in being arguably the most relevant club in existence simply because; who else is the general footy public going to deride, blame and otherwise ridicule if not us so they can find some enjoyment in the sport?

Versus...

They were never alone, always one of four and always the fourth in any listing, they were heartland to the VFL but other areas had more going for it, hell, we had a bath house retreat, they had a manufacturing centre and courthouse FFS. Their relevance is that they cooked the books, not that they were good, memorable or did anything exiting or revolutionary, they just straight cheated and said how they DGAF about fair play.

But but but, point one, let's lay blame elsewhere to detract from our own misgivings since that's our default and

Justin Koschitzke was probably the greatest player in AFL history based on a run of form over a 6 week period. Every year he has a patch of form that makes you think he could be a superstar but so far he hasn't managed to make it last for more than a short period.

It appeared to me that our forward line was very dysfunctional this year compared to last year. However we have in fact scored more in 22 games this year than last year. Our defence has regressed this year conceding on average 2 goals more per game. King will make a huge difference but our defence and midfield pressure needs to lift accordingly.

Aleer started as a third tall in the intercept role that Harry Himmelberg plays for us...but in the back end of the year has been playing in lieu of Taylor or Buckley in more 1v1 battles.
He's improved in that more demanding role but still looks a little lost from time to time. Once he builds some confidence to out mark his opponents rather than spoil I think he still turns into a beat 22 player.

Has TDK had back stress fractures, a Broken Skull with significant concussions, a dislocated elbow that has forced him to miss significant periods?

No.

He has played in 2 incredibly shit Carlton sides which has impacted his own form due to the side struggling aswell as then being thrown forward.

It also appears as if he went into self preservation mode with a significant deal waiting in the background

They aren’t one and the same.

We all sat in the same list management thread as TDK tried to carry Carlton in the first half of the season. We all saw the same gun ruck. As I said, his individual highlights are there for anyone to see and judge.

You are such a huge Roma fan, bet you haven’t compared Roma at TDKs age. (Hint it isn’t Roma who comes out on top).

Infact we all would have thought Roma was in the AA conversation last year. That Roma was only slightly better statistically than TDK this year - who you feel underwhelmed about.

If the trend of players completely buying into RTBs get the best out of yourself mantra continues with TDK we likely have the AA ruck of 2026 in TDK

At the moment we're looking at a 2026 where our depth mid is Jack Steele and no longer Ryan Byrnes.
