2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

Well a couple are already posting here or laughing at some of our posts and on their boards they are the biggest cucks you’ll see hiding behind mods.

Just want fairness for our posters.
fair enough but there's no amount of ridicule and laughing from delusional muppets that could hurt us in comparison to the stuff we've already dealt with supporting this club. **** em :sweatsmile:

So if we land all our targets we will have 44 on the list. Which means we need to shed at least 3 more before the draft? Is that right?

Do we have to upgrade any rookies? Caminiti?

You evidently haven’t been involved in a busy trade period before.

Where oppo posters can come in here roam around take a piss where they feel like, because we are a relatively mature bunch who enjoy abit of back and forth, However if we so much as utter SOS on say the Carlton Board it’s a 24 hour Big footy ban.

Not board ban.

Big footy ban 😂

Could it be that we are moving our highest CBA mid in Steele on, or at least transitioning him out?
Ross has mentioned all of Hall, Higgins, NAS (think we can cement NAS in mid now lol) and even Wilson as players he'd like to roll through mid (I can't see Wilson being a CBA mid yet but it has been said).

Hall is the most exciting of that bunch for mine, love his use and decision making.
So if he and Ryan are both playing, do they both play the high half fwd role switching mid, with Hall playing a higher percentage of midfield?

Then it is all down to form on who else is selected (obviously) between Wood, Owens and maybe Pou if not mid ready across the HFF?
Good post. I think you can add Henry to that list if he has a full pre season.

Windy is not contracted. Be a big loss IMO. If we lose him but get Ryan and Aleer, something is really not right and I'd really begin to question where we're headed.
and they are connected how? You are conflating independent events to suit your narrative. It seems that you are arguing that by getting in Ryan and Aleer (who btw makes no sense), we are not in a position to pay windy more than we consider he is worth and that if we didn't bring those two in we could? Not sure how that argument stacks up in logic.

yeah im pretty new to bigfooty

and wtf really, a complete ban is a ****ing pisstake

Why is my post removed and yet it can remain on the dogs Board FOR EXACTLY THE SAME THING
Because it's against the rules of the board, if you see a post there doing it, report it, you can report things on other boards

We have asked repeatedly for it not to be done, delete the names, then it's all good

The only thing that makes sense is that we are chasing a bigger fish that we need picks for because it looks more like we are doing as much damage as repair as we go. Selling off Marshall and Windhager will piss off a lot of fans. Both are favourite sons. It would want to be to get an absolute elite asset and play deep finals next year or otherwise we are saving a drowning kitten and then shooting a puppy.

I think that JSOs and Aleer get first crack and Tauru probably develops at Sandy for a while. He had a couple of promising games but late in the year he was a liability at times. Especially surrounded by youth in the back 6.
I must have missed the club statement about windy and/or Ro being sold off

St Kilda will attempt to put a revised offer to midfielder Marcus Windhager to help keep the hard nut from joining Melbourne or North Melbourne.
The Saints are set to offer the 22-year-old an improved deal in a bid to secure his signature for next season amid a bumper exchange period for the club.

Says Ro could go to Geelong

And at the bottom 😂 😂

The club has no interest in trading Callum Wilkie to Western Bulldogs.

Says we are going to revise our offer to Windy to keep him, Melbourne has to wait for coach to come in before approval to go after him, says initially Windy was looking to go but has revised recently and Nas re-signing helped, Moose is the big man they reference he could could join to Melbourne, said Marshall looking at Geelong and his $950K would go off our books, and simply says at end that St Kilda has no interest in trading Wilkie (Lol).

Great minds think alike

What about looking at it like this...

If we think JSOS is worth a higher salary than Windy, some of us, myself included, could only conclude that we overrate JSOS and underrate Windy.

I'm not a great footy judge, don't think I understand the game on any serious level so I'm usually happy to back Ross.

But to an idiot, this seems like a bad move. Think Windy could be a Brad Sewell type long term. Don't see JSOS offering us much at all tbh, one i wouldn't even have enquired about.
