2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th

Imagine being a huge reason why a talented young player never reached his potential and then insisting on being the one to announce his retirement at a best and fairest.
Richo still doing wonderful things at Melbourne. What a joke he’s still involved in an elite football program.
Why TF would they do that? Trying to enjoy the night and you get the delightful news you’re delisted in front of everyone.

Is Cho brain-dead from that bump by Voss?

It’s so odd. I can only hope anc imagine that Jack already knew and he agreed for it to be done as a kind of celebration farewell at the function.

I can't believe we're still discussing Wilkie leaving less than 24hrs after Tony has categorically left no doubt about his future
I can’t believe anybody is concerned about it. He has a contract for two more years and if he leaves we get an amazing deal. I doubt that he will leave for that and a plethora of other reasons.

I’m not a richo fan by any means, but did he have full complete control over the whole football department? Seems pretty convenient to just blame that whole period on him.
At the end of the day, the coach is to blame for the complete inability to develop any players during that time

GETTABLE

- Wilkie staying. Saints don’t have to do anything. Bulldogs had a throw at the stumps as they missed out on sos.

- Marshall. Only going if the saints get a top 15-18 pick.

- Flanders. Gettable. Hasn’t met with a club yet. Will wait until suns season finishes.

- COLLINGWOOD interested in ANTHONY CAMINITI as a key defender. Saints not looking to let him go.

Cals trade values.

Liam Ryan - future second or third
Leek Aleer - Third round pick

Always had a soft spot for Billings. I posted this back in November 2019 during the off season where we were at the same hotel in Broome WA.

We had met earlier in the trip and knew I was a Saints fans, on his last day he gave over his training bag with all his kit.

Shame it didn’t work out but he was a bloody good person and represented the club really well off the field.

I remember that post! I softened to him after that as well!

Let's have a bit of class and try not to pot ex players too much. This thread is to discuss the future, not the past.
Thought it was more potting the humiliating way they announced his delisting.
Billings was a good player who played 170 AFL games, a handful excellent a couple match winning ones.
I reckon he would be an absolute asset in this current Saints team under Lyon.

Getting everyone, not letting anyone go. Take Lyon at his word people. He doesn't bullshit.

Got to hand it to camma..
Came into the league as a mature age train on player.
Gets a speculative gig at a small Melbourne club that’s not competing for finals.
Is now getting chased by the biggest club in the sport.
He’s done bloody well and this should justify to everyone that he’s well worth his spot not only on the list but in the team. I love what he bring.

When you brand yourself as an elite development coach when applying for the job then proceed to deliver the worst player development I’ve ever seen then I’m more than comfortable blaming it all on him.
The board just as bad letting the farce continue for as long as it did.
