Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Absolutely do not want Flanders, I want Travaglia streaming off the half back line in 2026, replacing Naz as he moves full time into the midfield. I think Trav has an early break-out year as an attacking half-back that is working on his defensive game.

The Wilkie stuff can't happen unless we want it to happen. Play for us, a club ponies up overs or sit out of football for 2 years. My money is on the 1st option.

What gets me is…these players aren’t stupid, they know SC goes up every so often.
If you sign long term. So be it - that’s your contract no matter who else the club signs .

Or take your chances on shorter contracts. But to score on a front ended contract and then want to leave before the end is just rubbish.
Can’t have your cake and eat it.

Got to hand it to camma..
Came into the league as a mature age train on player.
Gets a speculative gig at a small Melbourne club that’s not competing for finals.
Is now getting chased by the biggest club in the sport.
He’s done bloody well and this should justify to everyone that he’s well worth his spot not only on the list but in the team. I love what he bring.

if we can bring in CMac and Robey(via draft) whilst losing two of 2025 first, 2026 first or Marshall we have hit a home run.

I love Marshall so happy to keep him but from an economics stand point I feel like one of Hammer, Heath or Dodson can do at least 3/4 the job at a fraction the cost. But only if he wants to go, culturally I don’t want us pushing him out.

According to Lore's spreadsheet above Essendon have 4 and 5. A compo for Draper would be 6, GC would then have 7 then they would have 8 and 9

So 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 moving out to 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 if WC get a band 1 for Allen.

5,6,7, 9, 10, then 22 and 25 which may blow out but 5 top 10 picks even in a supposed weak and compromised draft would be an excellent way to start a full rebuild before Tassie come in.

I think the contract that Brisbane/Adelaide (2 stacked teams) would offer Draper, coming off a serious achilles injury, is unlikely to result in band 1 compo.

read alot of our board but dont post much

hammer - i liked him back, gave a few stupid frees away through the year , but also thought was penalised alot wrongly, he's a big dood that plays on the big doods, and thought he had a good year. absolutely best 22.

windy - i love how he plays. imo, an old school centreman (like steele) , they have "tagging" traits by nature, so liked how RTB used him through the year , he'll position himself where theres a space threat on the ground. an absolute must have.

roma/tdk - i think roma would excel with tdk as main ruck, especially with the new rules on ruck contests likely to come in. Has copped a battering for a while now without any help and he's a much smarter player than given credit for. if i was roma I would say hallelujah, thank fack

tdk, ive met him quite a few times as he lived his early yrs in afl with another carlton player who ive known since birth as close family friends, so in non footy environments and think we've got a good one here, comes across as quality person.

Not many 21 year old key position players have played 56 games already.

I think Hammer would be frustrating to coach due to being a few sandwiches short of a picnic, but to give him up would be a shocking list management move.

Losing Hammer for Aleer for example sends our list backwards and we'd be paying for the privilege...

Maybe he’s got a bit to learn from a footy nous perspective, but the kid is studying engineering.
He’s no slouch..

Grammar check...Billings should HAVE played like Max Hall. Billings is skillful, but doesn't really have that intensity in the contest that Max has.

I think from watching him train and speaking to him back then that he was a bit of a perfectionist and a bit neurotic. He was exceptionally shy at first and we really seemed to have a eye on picking overly nice or meek characters as much as it became a joke on here.

You could see the cogs whirring when he played and little voices in his head telling him that he wasn't good enough. Nas seems to play with that incredible instinct and it's like some primal excellence oozes from him in a flow state. Having an ability to access that shit could make you the best sport psych going.

Yep Richo would be criticising NAZ for his two or three turnovers a game instead of the 20+ perfect passes that turn into scores every game.

I don't recall saying that - I was a believer in getting both cos I think they play different roles

They will come for a combined cost of around a third round pick

Cmack + Flanders on the other hand costs 2 firsts at minimum, whether its with our existing hand or via Marshall/Steele so its a bit of a different scenario I think

thats the way i saw it,was stunned to see the other posts as i was catching up,saw it as nothing else but absolute respect on richos part,not to let billings go out the same way as the other 5,im guessing jack was an attendee?
