2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Hardwick confirmed that Flanders has been managing a back issue all season

Very smart from dimma- must know we have a fetish for injured players and will pay more if they are NQR.

Listening to Jamarra on a recent podcast and he speaks pretty candidly. To be honest he doesn’t sound at all how he’s been portrayed in the media.

With his talent and how self aware he sounds I would be absolutely shocked if he never plays a game again. He will be back, which club he’s at is the only question IMO

People with substance abuse issues can be brutally candid about themselves- doesn't mean they have (or want) a path out of it.
For instance- he could hypothetically be speaking candidly about only 50% of what he gets up to... and totally omitting the rest.

So right.
Not only can they be frank, they can be poetic or ironic about 50% of it, and speak in such a candid 'lived in' and authentic way, it cuts through. Meanwhile, the other "50%" is still floating out there.

Anyone else at that stage of blind optimism where you only see the bright side? Like we could get JUH for free on a minimum contract with dogs paying him for two years for us and he makes All Australian immediately?

I don't want logic or restraint. I wsnt pie in the sky fantasy!

I mean, we're ****ing due for a risky pick to come off.

And a flag.

Or he could get Ross hooked on ice and our whole club falls apart.

I think we'd be stupid not to have at least asked where he's at.

If he genuinely wanted another go and his mind seemed to be in the right place and the cost was minimal, I'd take the risk.

He fails, we wear it but take the high moral ground that we at least gave him a chance.

There’s no moral high ground.
It’ll be “the Saints stuff up again.”
Thanks, but no thanks.
