2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Love Nas but public speaking definitely isn’t his thing 😂
Nasiah is a shy lad. Not everyone is a natural at public speaking. But he spoke from the heart and organised notes on his phone to say all he wanted to say.

Nasiah seems to view life through the prism of his devotion to faith and family. His first reference was to God, his parents and extended family. Good for him. He seemed a little awkward when doing it but I thought it was great.

He made reference by name to the people who had cared for him at the club and he didn’t miss anybody.

And he made special reference to Ross Lyon and Corey Enright plus his close mates Marcus Windhager and Mitch Owens. He has formed close bonds with those people.

My impression is Nasiah is an incredibly loyal lad and I’d be surprised if he isn’t a one club player. He’ll be hard to extricate for the SA clubs. When he made reference to the club now getting things done there was a loud cheer from the audience.

Reading Nasiah’s body language is a fraught exercise. Shy people tend to keep their emotions and body language relatively private.

good summary Neil
agree on the family, I hope the club has some plans to get them to Melbourne more, involved with the club, not that they want control, but that they want to ensure their child is being cared for

How are you getting about? Did you buy a car or a mobile home or are you renting or using trains and buses etc? Are you travelling with kids or just you and your partner?

I live in Europe and probably too chickenshit to ever make a move like this but it does intrigue me.
We drove our car from Australia to here. Stage one is from Australia to Europe, then 3 months in Morocco, then Europe, UK, Africa, then the Americas and then home. Easy when you say it quickly. Its myself and my wife. She is an amazing traveller and as adventurous as anything. See you in Europe.

Mat, I think if the club keeps Nasiah’s family happy then that will take away a lot of the pressure he may feel in re-signing in the future.

I’m sure the club are all over it. We have some great people involved in player welfare.

Well was until this morning. Have been there for the past fortnight. Before lunch we drove back into Georgia and then this afternoon we crossed into Turkey. Armenia is a beautiful country, that we very much enjoyed. If you are going to Armenia include Georgia in your trip as it is also incredible.
When we were in bordeaux we stopped by the Cite de Vin whose shop has a surprising amount of Georgian wine.

The salesman explained the Georgians were the first culture (or one if the first at any rate) you get into wine making historically speaking and every family has their own man-sized underground earthenware wine vat that they make it in. I couldn't tell you how it tastes being a non-drinker myself but it comes highly recommended. Anyone passing through Georgia should give it a go!

Doesn't sound easy at all. My wife is begging me to do something like this. How on earth do you get your car from Australia to Europe?

Leave Sunshine Coast, drive around Australia, to end up in Darwin. Put car in a shipping container and send it to Dili, Timor Leste. Drive around country and cross to West Timor (Indonesia). Then ferries to Flores, Sumbuwa, Lombok, Bali, Java and Borneo. Drive to Malaysia and Brunei, and back to Kuching Malaysia. Ship to Port Klang Malaysia (mainland). Then Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Georgia, Armenia and now in Turkey. Lots of twists and turns with border closures, disputes etc, but that is what we ended up doing. Tell your wife she is on the right track and it will be something you will always treasure that you have done. In three weeks we have been gone for 2 years. The plan is it will take us another 4-5 years to finish. So lots of other routes, adventures ahead.

Why are we positing about holidays in St Kilda trade thread. Can’t we get back on topic and talk about Hutchys girth.
