2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

100% correct.

IMO, it would need to be Richards and extras (eg. Freijah).

And even then, I’m not overly keen on that.

The onus is on the Bulldogs here. It is NOT a fair trade scenario.
I really like Freijah is his draft year and like him even more now.

They aren’t letting Richards go so we can stop throwing his name around.

Maybe Croft and Freijah as the core of the deal?

Tony's posts read like he's holding a gun to said player's head and making them repeat the line back in third person

"callum wilkie will be at moorabbin next year" gulp
Well he needs to be. He’s our Harris Andrews.
You don’t let players like that go.

Geelong:
Shannon Neale - FF
Blicavs/Stanley - Ruck

Lions:
Morris - CHF
Gallop (5 games 😲) - FF
Fort/Omac - Ruck

Need the investments in TDK and King to pay off so that we can spread the load into our midfield in future seasons because KPP forward of the ball are not the be all, end all.

Yes, I know Jeremy Cameron is a huge part of what Geelong do but King is closer to Eric Hipwood than Jeremy Cameron at this point.

Desperately need Pou to start turning into Danger/Rayner while guys like Hall, Garcia, Owens etc become our Miers/Bailey type hybrids.

We dodged a bullet with Houston. What a crab

What happened to him seriously.

Was one of the brightest rising stars a few years back he looked ****ing horrible last night.

100% agree with this.

Wilkie being tempted by a truly monumental godfather offer doesn’t reflect poorly on him or us, it doesn’t even reflect poorly on the dogs (unless they get him comitted then can’t get a deal done).

Even if you love your job, if someone offered you close to double your salary you’d absolutely consider it
And if you are an AFL player and you are under contract, then you better hope the club agrees and it adequately compensated, otherwise your considerations are meaningless.

We made the right call with Membrey, when the pressure came on tonight, he shat himself in front of the big sticks.

Hopefully we can get Max King back next year to show him how it's done, probably shit himself instead of kick goals.

We need to recruit more forwards that can kick straight like Lockett and Sharman, Kosi was a pretty good kick as well.
