2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

I think going after a contracted player is being proactive. He was never going to leave but was worth a shot.
I tried to pick up a gorgeous 21yo that was wearing a wedding ring by showing off my bank balance and letting her talk to my borderline racist father on the phone.

Was never going to work, but was worth a shot

Edit: I'm not trying to imply that Bevo is racist.

Not the end of the world if he chooses another club...i want us to keep our first pick

I have a feeling if its not Flanders we will be using this years first on another player (midfielder). Some have suggested Cam McKenzie is not coming this year, but that might change rapidly if the Zac Merrett trade goes ahead.

I said previously that I believe Joel Friejah at the Dogs has a huge future (not proven I know), but he is the type of player who projects as a future dominant mid. Quick, great skills and blasts out of stoppages.

It wouldn't surprise if Gubby and SOS are into other players that we havent heard about.

Sweeney rhymes with Heeney.

Mystery mid confirmed 🔒

But her genes are Blue and SOS loves those. She also has great jeans. Greater Western Sydney. Her ad blew up so maybe Bombers……

Sweeney Heeny’s on field performance not the only thing that’s been enhanced

Midfield spots opening up at Melbourne. Maybe Flanders isnt the lock here that we think he is?

Could easily be them making room for Langford Windsor Rivers etc to have midfield time.

Let’s just wait and see what Happens.

It was bound to happen with King coming into the club, blind Freddy could see that Oliver and Petracca were past there used by dates and the Dees needed a refresh.

I think King will be a really good get for a Melbourne, but hopefully that doesn't include spoiling the Flanders trade.

cornes suggesting dees should have done the bowes trade with oliver last year, any chance they do oliver and f1 to take him and his salary to hell out of there?

Sure, but would you want to go to them once they lose May, Petracca and Oliver? Outside of an ageing Gawn, who do they have on their list that makes them competitive? Pickett is obvs a gun, Lever is alright I guess? It feels like a rebuild to me

Sounds like they think they can bounce and play finals.

That list isn’t playing finals if Petracca isn’t there.

I’ll extend that additionally if May isn’t and if Oliver is playing half back

If it was just about playing in the strongest and most successful team, he'd stay at the Gold Coast

There is obviously more to it then that.
