Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Just popped over to the Essendon board to see the reaction to the band 2 compo for Draper.
Kind of sad really. They are so beaten down over there they can hardly muster the energy to get fired up over it.

It's starting to look like the AFL did us a sweet deal for Tauru last year based off these compo picks. Draper is getting serious coin with the Lions, more than whatever his name is did when he left us for the Hawks.

He has been kick out of the Gold Coast so his ITK is specialised for one trade period only.

I don’t disagree particularly, but the getting younger while getting a bit better, plus all of the medium term benefits is big

We’re considerably better and just as importantly younger.

Unless the rules change Tassie is going to blow Collingwood and Geelong out of the water. Melbourne are gutting themselves but it looks a little late.

Brisbane could be the first team to win 4 on the trot in the modern era and you wouldn’t rule out 5. The afl have ruined this competition and these add hoc changes can’t put the genie back in the bottle.

This Brisbane dynasty will need to just run its course now. They can be beaten but it’s going to take another great side, maybe someone will emerge but it’s Brisbane’s era imo.

Geelong’s bottom 6 were so much weaker than Brisbane’s in the GF it was crazy.

How do you think we're going to go next year injecting all these new faces into our best 22? I can't help but feel like it might take one more season for the club to really hit the next level.

I don't mind, considering that I can see what the club is doing and this is clearly the best moves we've made for a long time. I don't care what the media says, but if we don't make finals next year the pressure is going to be on.

Is it possible we miss finals just because we lack a little bit of team cohesion?

He regressed this year for sure.
But he wasnt alone at carlton in that

There are going to be some disappointed fans if they think a flag or prelim is on the cards next season.

There is missing the finals and then there is not even being close to the finals - if you get me.

I will be disappointed if we miss finals but if we just fall short with another 23 games into the 22 and younger core, it's alright.

I would start to get really concerned if we missed again in 2027 - that would be a problem.
