2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Never ever trade away a future first.
I dont agree with this as a hard and fast rule, but if you're going to do it, you should value in that you will have a worst case scenario year and it will turn out to be a good draft.

So in our case, id be valuing our future first as a top 6 pick. Would take an absolute gun being involved to be willing to part with that.

It's good in a sense that Geelong haven't immediately come out and squashed the idea. If losing SDK helps them get Curnow we can use that to our advantage.
I dont know how to value players, but i know that every fan bases projected trades are basically always biased.

So if accounting for their bias means we replace our future 1st with our future 2nd, I'd jump at the trade.

Make it F2 instead of F1 and I'd be interested.

According to Gubby, our spending spree will continue next year, so we need to keep our F1
Geelong will demand the F1 as part of a push for Curnow.

However, maybe a F2 if the two clubs swapped F1. That is compromise.

Not sure Geelong would do that though.
